Summary[edit]
Amount of greenhouse gases (as equivalent grams of CO₂) produced by different power plants per kWh of energy produced, in order of medians from worst to best.
Data from Wikipedia's Life-cycle greenhouse-gas emissions of energy sources, which in turn is from IPCC 2014[1][2] with some artistic license by me:
- Combined both types of wind
- Combined both types of solar PV
- Combined all 4 types of CCS and called it "wp:Clean coal" (since CCS is on that page)
- Abbreviated labels so they didn't need to be at an angle
- Geo = geothermal
- CSP = wp:Concentrated solar power
- PV = wp:Photovoltaic power station
- Bars are median, error bars are min and max (hydro goes up to 2200, probably from the huge amounts of methane produced when you drown an entire countryside and it rots underwater)
