Agave nectar (or syrup) is a sweetener made from plants in the genus agave. It is marketed as being somehow better, more natural, and less processed than white sugar and high-fructose corn syrup, even though it is also processed[1][2] (so much for "more natural") and contains fructose and glucose. It can contain anywhere from 55% to 90% fructose,[1] while high-fructose corn syrup usually contains 45% to 55% fructose.[3]

However...

It's still pretty good. Have some. Just don't think it's some kind of miraculous, "healthier" sugar. After all, it's just glucose and fructose. It also makes a good vegan honey substitute.
