Charles Darwin, the man behind that dreadful Godless nonsense, evolution. Specifically he was co-discover of Natural Selection along with Alfred Wallace. This page is just itchin' for a biologist or historian or anyone to do something nice with. While we wait we will have to suffice with, "the bloke who kicked religion in the knackers" by writing On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life.
Darwin is often a victim of the phenomenon known as quote mining.

Not even wrong
Creationists often refer to people who consider evolution to be a valid scientific doctrine as "Darwinists". This is a big, ugly use of rhetoric. The biological theory that explains life is called "evolution", and those who study it are called "biologists". "Darwinist" could refer to someone who studies Darwin the person, or perhaps, if Darwin had bothered to start a system of irrational, supernatural beliefs (i.e. a "religion"), its adherents could be called "Darwinists".
Darwin and marine iguanas
Darwin thought, to use his words, that marine iguanas were "disgusting clumsy Lizards", and even described them as "imps of darkness".[1]
2009: Darwin Year
The year 2009 is the bicentennial of Darwin's birthday, and heretics everywhere are gathering to celebrate. Darwin Day (February 12) joins Evolution Day (November 24) as another pain in the ass for Creationism. 2009 is also the 150th anniversary of the publication of his bestseller.
Happy birthday man.
