The expanding Earth theory is made out of pure bullshit. It posits that the Earth is growing as a result of the expansion of the seafloor. There are several versions of the theory, from one that claims that the planet's mass has remained constant (and gravity has therefore decreased), to another that holds that the gravitational constant of the universe has changed. People who embrace these ideas have clearly never heard of the word "subduction."
According to proponents of the theory, an "expanding Earth" model explains why the outlines of continents that were separated by continental drift do not quite match up. If the Earth were, say, 80% smaller, South America and Africa would fit like pieces in a jigsaw puzzle.[1]
