Basically the Greco-Roman religion was, you've guessed it, the religion that the Ancient Greeks and Ancient Romans believed. The Greco-Roman religion was a complex polytheistic religion with many gods, goddesses, spirits and supernatural entities generally. Hinduism developed out of the Greco-Roman religion or at least was influenced by it and many Hindu gods and goddesses show similarities to Greco-Roman counterparts.
Was the Greco-Roman religion less sensible than other faith based belief systems of the time? Greek and Roman philosophers were and still are respected for the way they thought. The Greco-Roman religion looks about as reasonable as other contemporary mythologies and that religion probably died out due to historical accident.
