Pages for inclusion on the front page, "Cover Stories", should be nominated for inclusion by adding Template {{Covernominate}} to the page. Discussion should then be carried out on the page's talk page.

Nomination

The template {{cover}} is put at the top of an article to nominate it. Discussion should proceed on its talk page under an appropriate header.

All nominated articles are automagically added to category:Cover story nominees.

Approval

If and when they are approved, the template should be modified to {{cover|approved}}. This will put the article in category:Cover story articles, and the first 800 /1000 or so characters from articles in that category will be randomly featured on the main page of RationalWiki.

Any templates within the first 1000 (ish) words of the article should be enclosed in <noinclude>--</noinclude>.

Any images within this area should also be carefuly examined to see if they will or might disrupt the formatting of the front page, if they might do so they should also be enclosed in the <noinclude>image</noinclude>. If {{cover|approved}} is the only one, this would look like this:

<noinclude>{{cover|approved}}</noinclude>.
