Precognition refers to a type of extra-sensory perception which allows a person allegedly gifted with such a paranormal sense to perceive future events. Precognition is sometimes called clairvoyance.
It is classed as a pseudoscience by the scientific community.
Precognition in the Bible is referred to as prophesy. The prophetic procedure is to have an old fart sit in Jerusalem while the Pharaoh and his charioteers approach from the south, and King Nebuchadnezzar II and his charioteers approach from the north. The old fart then circulates something portentious like Zion shall be plowed like a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and thy children shall be dashed against the stones. If the prophesy comes true, the old fart is hailed as a man of God. IF the prophesy does not come true, it is put down as something which has a future fulfillment after the rapture.
