More about CP

Are the shibboleths of Rationalwiki confusing you? We provide you with dys lexicon to make it worse.

Contents

A

  • ' ... a sensitive man' - (n. phrase) - named after a CP vandal who posted the same picture of Hitler and his dog over and over, with the caption 'Hitler was a sensitive man'. Thus, saying that someone 'is a sensitive man' is a veiled accusation of them being far-right.
Origin - back in the day.
Incidence - Conservapedia

C

  • Curse of Ham - (n) - a racist fallacy that all non-white people have darker skin pigmenting because they are cursed.
Origin - Genesis 9:20-27, Ham being the one whose descendants were cursed.
Incidence - Republican Faith (blog)

D

  • Deceit - (n) - a catch-all refutation and condemnation of any statistic, argument, subtlety or humour. Often prefixed by 'liberal'.
Origin - Andrew Schlafly.
Incidence - Conservapedia, Rationalwiki

  • Fnord - if you can see this, you already know.

G

  • Goat - (n) - the RW mascot. Pioneered by User:DocSock, goats are ubiquitous on RW. For example, when asked which Deathly Hallow one would have, the vast majority of respondents replied 'goat'.
Incidence - Rationalwiki

  • Godspeed!!! - (v. imp.) - either a cheery "see you later" or a devious way to say "go fuck yourself".
Incidence - Conservapedia
Origin - Andrew Schlafly's talk page, infected a few other sysops. And us.
Occasionally perverted as: God's peed (God has urinated -geddit?).

  • Goatspeed!!! (v. imp. lulz) - It had to happen.
Incidence - RationalWiki
Origin - Human, but ownership immediately transferred to Docsock/PalMD.

L

  • LIEberal - (adj; n) - hilarious conflation of the words 'lie' and 'liberal'; then, just to make sure that you got the joke, they capitalised the 'lie'. D'y'see?
Incidence - Republican Faith (blog), Blogs 4 Brownback

M

  • moonbat - (adj; n) - a left-winger, often with environmental connotations. Compare - 'moonraker', and hence connotations of head-in-the-sky thinking.
Origin - mangling the surname of the noted environmentalist George Monbiot (now, kids, repeat after me: MON-BEE-OH)
Incidence - Blogs 4 Brownback

  • My bad - (exclamation) - oops, sorry, what I did was an eror.

N

Origin - "I do know, with 95% certainty, what your positions are on classroom prayer and evolution. The 95% confidence level is all that science requires."
Andrew Schlafly
Incidence - Conservapedia, Rationalwiki

O

  •  !!!1!@!!one! (and variations) - (excl) - an often ironic imitation of the effect of mashing the buttons around 1/! in order to convey excitement, joy, or rage, sardonic or otherwise.
Origin - Either Counterstrike, or any other situation in which people type quickly without thinking. ASchlafly also signed off with '!!!' (if not Godspeed), so it was reinforced here.
Incidence - Conservapedia, RationalWiki

Alternatively: cry heard when someone is found out in a misdemeanor or similar acts (including 'pwnage').

Origin: Internet gaming culture. A common typo of "own". Widely used by Human and other elderly adolescents.

S

  • Snark - (v , n) - a sarcastic or snide remark inserted into an article. Generally used in place of logic.
Origin: Portmanteau of snide and sarcasm
Incidence - Rationalwiki, Blogs 4 Brownback, Republican Faith (blog)
