Some banners broken

At least two banner templates aren't working any more for me (Ubuntu/Chrome).

Problem does not manifest in Firefox, only in Chrome.--ADtalkModerator 03:30, 27 July 2012 (UTC)

Funny, works fine for me. I'm also using Chrome. Nebuchadnezzar (talk) 08:14, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
Works on Mint/Chrome for me. Peter This is not my first temporal anomaly 08:24, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
how did I know this was going to be a Chrome issue? Scarlet A.pngbomination 13:12, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
I've never seen this problem on any computer with Chrome. Picon small.pngAcer Blue 18:28, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
Just had this happen to me. Clear your cache, that should fix it. -- Nx / talk 12:40, 5 August 2012 (UTC)

api

Suddenly, the query

http://rationalwiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&meta=siteinfo&siprop=usergroups&format=xml

results in

 <error code="internal_api_error_MWException" info="Exception Caught: Internal error in ApiResult::setIndexedTagName: Bad parameter" xml:space="preserve" />

Can anybody help? larronsicut fur in nocte 15:30, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

The problem is still there. And it is RW-specific:
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/api.php?action=query&meta=siteinfo&siprop=usergroups&format=xml
shows the expected result. Can anybody help? Thanks. larronsicut fur in nocte 21:09, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
If it's api specific it'd be best dealt with by firing off an email to Trent. I don't think it's anything we can fix just through the MW interface. Scarlet A.pnggnostic 21:35, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

Are there other API queries that are breaking? Tmtoulouse (talk) 16:29, 30 August 2012 (UTC)

I havn't encountered any other breaking query. Thanks for looking into it. larron (talk) 07:37, 31 August 2012 (UTC)

Still a SUBST problem

Using this <font face="Wild Words"><b><font color="blue">PsyGremlin</font></b></font> as my sig is still giving this as a result:
<font face="Wild Words"><b><font color="blue">PsyGremlin</font></b><choose><br> <option weight=1><font color=blue>Speak!</font></option><br> <option weight=1><font color=red>Praat!</font></option><br> <option weight=1><font color=green>Khuluma!</font></option><br> <option weight=1><font color=purple>Поговорите!</font></option><br> <option weight=1><font color=aqua>話しなさい</font></option><br> <option weight=1><font color=black>말하십시오</font></option><br> <option weight=1><font color=cyan>Siarad!</font></option><br> <option weight=1><font color=pink>Hable!</font></option><br> <option weight=1><font color=blue>講話</font></option><br> <option weight=1><font color=red>Parlez!</font></option><br> <option weight=1><font color=green>Fale!</font></option><br> <option weight=1><font color=blue>Sprich!</font></option><br> <option weight=1><font color=red>Zungumza!</font></option><br> <option weight=1><font color=green>Tal!</font></option><br> <option weight=1><font color=purple>Prata!</font></option><br> <option weight=1><font color=aqua>Snakk!</font></option><br> <option weight=1><font color=black>Tala!</font></option><br> <option weight=1><font color=cyan>Sermā!</font></option><br> <option weight=1><font color=pink>Parla!</font></option><br> <option weight=1><font color=blue>Runāt!</font></option><br> </choose></font>

Removing the SUBST from it doesn't help, if I click save, it's inserted. --[[User:Psygremlin|PsyGremlin] 15:22, 5 August 2012 (UTC)

Hello? /rings bell /knocks on glass. --Psygremlin (talk) 12:21, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
Have you tried converting it to the parser rather than the choose tag? Eg: Scarlet A.pngmoral 12:30, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
Now it's posting the whole new line: <font face="Wild Words"><b><font color="blue">PsyGremlin</font></b></font> and still sticking SUBST in under the preferences. --PsyGremlin話しなさい 12:45, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
It will keep sticking SUBST in there until Trent fixes it. Your options now are: use subst:expand with the parser syntax to get a substed random sig like Armondikov's, ditch the random thing, or go back to using two templates. -- Nx / talk 14:04, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
Where do I type in the "subst:expand"? My wiki-fu is weak. --PsyGremlinSprich! 14:11, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
In preferences, my sig reads (with "sign exactly as shown" ticked). Scarlet A.pngmoral 14:13, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
Tried that and my sig shows PsyGremlin - I'll go back to plain until it's working again. Thanks for the help. --Psygremlin (talk) 14:21, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
Is there a reason you have a pipe at the end of "sig" there? Scarlet A.pngtheist 14:55, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
And no colon between "expand" and "User". Scarlet A.pngd hominem 14:57, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
Ah, that seems to have fixed it. Thank you - give yourself the rest of the day off. Tell them I said so. --PsyGremlinFale! 15:03, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
Already taken most of the day off. It's been grand. Scarlet A.pngmoral 15:17, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

Vandal Bin

The link to the page that lets us bin folks seems to be busted; gives an error message. Theory of Practice "Trampoline" is an Olympic sport now? 15:41, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

Pibot

It looks like our little archiving bot is also on the blink. --PsyGremlinSermā! 10:52, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

Then switch to LQT and you won't have those problems. Is it really that hard for you liberals to understand such simple concepts? Conservative Punk (talk) 10:59, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
Working on it. Might be a while before I can safely archive anything besides the bar though. Peter Rapidly running out of marmite 06:07, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
Archiving's pretty easy(ish) really. I'll do the bar. SophieWilder 06:10, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
I just did that a few minutes ago. But TWIGO:CP is another matter. Peter Rapidly running out of marmite 06:11, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
Damn it, I thought that thing had a 'simulate' function. Oh well. Peter Rapidly running out of marmite 06:13, 20 August 2012 (UTC)

Holydaze

Why is it now sitting on the left, despite an align:center command in Template:Holydaze/0820? I checked a few others at random, & many of them are doing the same. ωεαşεζόίďWeaselly.jpgMethinks it is a Weasel 18:30, 20 August 2012 (UTC)

Thank goodness it's not just me. I've been trying to fix it without any luck.  Lily Inspirate me. 18:40, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
Done. Scarlet A.pngpostate 18:43, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, chuck!  Lily Inspirate me. 18:46, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
align="center" is used in a lot of the Holydaze templates. What made it stop working? WèàšèìòìďWeaselly.jpgMethinks it is a Weasel 19:06, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
It will probably be due to the update. The way wikitables were handled changed slightly as it still works in divs, though:
Table content, uncentred.
Div content, centred.
Either way, it should be done through styling as that's the standard, for whatever reason. Scarlet A.pngbomination 20:31, 20 August 2012 (UTC)

US Politics template breaking articles

Example: Michele Bachmann. Apparently the ref screws up at the place you add this template (none of the ref before it will show up in the reflistdue to the ref count reset after the template). I am not sure whether the other templates will have similar problems, so I report it here. ThiehCP≠Child Porn? 16:15, 23 August 2012 (UTC)

Putting templates which contain random DPL (such as that sidebar) screw up refs placed before them. You can either reshuffle the ordering (go image, template, text) or ditch the template entirely. Peter Rapidly running out of marmite 21:22, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
Fixed. ТyComplaints here 21:29, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
The bigger question might be, is it possible to fix DPL for that kind of behaviour, or are we doomed to the quest to search for articles with a sidebar in the middle? ThiehMonitoring virgin birth experiment 04:39, 24 August 2012 (UTC)

Saloon Bar & Monobook

So I noticed it a bit ago, but since i've been mostly inactive I've not really cared, but using my skin I actually can't access any of the Buttons on the SB (And just the SB, and just through Firefox) Any idea why?--Mikal Harass Follow 03:27, 4 September 2012 (UTC)

I see what you mean. Jeeves tried to fix it the other day, but he gave up. Peter Rapidly running out of marmite 03:32, 4 September 2012 (UTC)
.page-RationalWiki_Saloon_bar #bodyContent {padding-top: 1em;}
That fixes the specific problem. The real problem involves all pages using 'notitle,' and seems to be related to the .mp_content thing in MediaWiki:Monobook.css. Peter Rapidly running out of marmite 03:45, 4 September 2012 (UTC)
