Please note:

Did you get an actual belt when you got Green Belt certified? I just got a certificate and was sorely disappointed.

Nope, no belts. Like you, I just got a certificate. Though I also got a $150 bonus from my employer, so it wasn't all bad.

Damn I didn't even get a bonus! Maybe it has to do with the fact that Green Belt certification is required for all new hires within a year, so they're not going to want to give out bonuses to literally everyone.

Probably the case. For my company, it's only required within a year for people who are being promoted or hired into management. So once I got the "production supervisor" label tacked onto my list of job titles, they sent me to training for it. The bonus, though, was unexpected but, I am told, standard once you get a Green Belt certification. And then, should I go the extra mile for Black Belt certification in a few years, I get a $1000 bonus.
