I can see some of the appeal -- day-to-day lab work can involve a lot of number crunching and statistical grunt work. Sometimes it's very "zen" to get that graph just right. But I couldn't do that all day.

It's fun to charter an accountant! To find, explore, the funds offshore and skirt the shoals of bankruptcy!

    (Context for the above. Sorry, pet peeve of mine :-] )

    Guess that means I'll be awesome accounting, because I sometimes spend hours in a single day just playing with arbitrary numbers. And, depending on how much I want to cook the books, they'll be totally arbitrary in real life, too!  :-D

        The 2008 banking crisis surely violated the law of conservation when all that wealth evaporated, and there's just no competing with that. I mean, even if I advise every one of my clients to invest in Bitcoins and the second-hand food market there's no way I can compare.
