Give us a break. Look at the history. We were young then. We've come a long way, baby.
(Context)
It still infuriates me. There are something like a half-dozen neologisms bandied about by internet atheists that do nothing but service a blogosphere circlejerk. They're embarrassing, combining all the pointless political correctness of Richard Dawkins' "Brights," with the lowbrow quality of lolcats, with the needless alienating effects that all cutesy subculture jargon has on outsiders.
Worst of all, our articles about them take these terms seriously. They should all be shoved into a combined "atheist blogosphere neologisms" list and left to suffocate in a closet.
I get you. I for one would like to see "Youtubers," (both the word and most of the people it describes) killed in a painful way. I'm also appalled that we have an article on "sophisticated theology" that hints at treating the term as an actually-existing thing, as opposed to a snarl word developed by a crank.
