hehehe. wait till he teaches his first class as a grad school, after taking classes as a grad student.
I routinly wrote 40 page papers each week. I would assign a 2 or 3 page paper to my 100 level class and hear "but that's sooooo long".
the mind boggles.
He can always just put lots of greeking into the middle. we never read the middle, anyhow!
Depends on the subject really, I can go on for hours lecturing on stuff I'm interested in.
no no, not the lectures, those are fun. teh grading papers. ;-)
the 2 page long things that make our mutual friend look like a well organized writer and thinker.
'zactly. We frequently did it with bottles of our favorite adult beverage in our hands. My closest friend at the time was a russian muslim, when the drink flowed our comments were far more, ummm, creative. When it was my own class, when i was not the TA, i was better behaved. but god, the first time you pick up a paper and read (i'm not kidding here):
"So then they went to the camp and attacked them and they ran away but then the next day they attacked them and they all died".
Ick. 40 paged papers. Nooo thank you.
And I have no doubt you can go on for hours on your lectures Ty. Hahaha.
And...Ew. Grading papers. I help my dad with his grading on his student's papers. It's intense.
And in a large enough 100 level, intro course, there are so many of them and they are all so...vapid.
It's funny, you can instantly see kids who are clearly jr. and srs due to not only their writing, but the way they organize their thoughts, analyze the issue, etc.
