You're probably tired of people asking you this, but do you have anything of RW1.0 stuck away anywhere? I missed the whole thing and I'd love to see what it was like.

Can you please tell us, here or by email, something about your plan to stop the vandalbot? Or at least tell us that there is a plan?

At the moment we are negotiating terms on delivery of $1,000,000 in unmarked $5 bills. I wanted the dead drop in the Cayman Islands, but he was insisting on Siberia. Then the meteor hit and improved my negotiating position. At the moment Mali is looking like it maybe the compromise but I will be sure to let people know.

Tmtoulouse (talk)14:55, 16 February 2013

What does unmarked bills even mean, anyways?

That they lack an distinctive markings.

No, this was off the listserv. I sent two copies of the same message, one on the 25th ult. and another on the 5th inst. They contained a number of technical questions on which I was not expecting an immediate answer.

Hello. There are some pages at ru-rw, that I want to change, but I have no rights to edit them. For example, this and this. Can I ask you to give me an access for editing that pages?

Rrogntudjû!

I've had to rewrite this post eight million times.

Anyways, I'm disappointed to find that our lovemaking might constitute incest. On the other hand, incest sounds ...dirty.

Interesting story, though. My last name means weaver in Middle/Old/not modern French (or maybe some local patois). So I guess one of my ancestors was a weaver.

"Shut up, Brx."21:28, 7 April 2012

Hello! The community has decided to assign you, as operations manager, the job of selecting and removing techs. If someone goes nuts or something I suppose the mods will step in, as an emergency, but this is just notice that we would like you to please make selections or endorse the current techs. David Gerard, as server admin, is the backup in case you are unable to do this for any period.

Here is the relevant section of the Standards. Here is everyone who is a tech at the moment; please remove anyone you do not sanction. Thanks!

"You are a sysops"

sys.prefix: refers to the parent directory of the interpreter installation. (http://www.doughellmann.com/PyMOTW/sys/interpreter.html) Ops (suffix): Eye or face. So: a sysops is a parent-directory-face, or someone who looks like a parent directory? I think we should be told.

SophieWilder19:30, 5 December 2012

After looking at your user page, your area of study is basically training dogs with drugs?

"Shut up, Brx."19:36, 4 December 2012

My thesis work was computational modeling of the several neural systems involved in reward based learning and decision making. And then applying the predictions of those algorithms to animal models of OCD and several human behavioral experiments looking at people's performance correlated with several measures of dopamine levels.

My current work is looking at schizophrenics, bi-polor and mild traumatic brain injury patients. I am taking fMRI measurements and pulling certain parameters of the signal we get that correspond to certain properties of blood flow and microvasculature structure and comparing them to healthy controls.

Tmtoulouse (talk)19:47, 4 December 2012

It's a lot less funny when you put it like that.

Can you do a brain scan for schizophrenia other disorders? That would sure make things easier. That's what you're looking into, right?

"Shut up, Brx."19:49, 4 December 2012

People with schizophrenia have some fairly consistent and obvious difference in their fMRI data from healthy controls. It is not a great diagnostic tool though.

In our particular case we are looking at some fairly technical and fairly specific aspects of the fMRI signal. With schizophrenics they appear to not show several classic properties of the ideal fMRI signal. This aspect of the signal relates to metabolic rate and something called "vasocompliance" which is the ability of the microvasculature to expand and contract with changes in blood flow.

Again its more a research tool than a diagnostic tool.

Hi Trent, it's turning into a bit of slanging match over there at the moment between Dynamiclear and a BoN (alleged competitor). Could you have a quick look over my latest proposal and see what you think? TIA.

Scavenging Citizendium, etc.

Trent, you mentioned that you can host additional wikis on your server. I'm thinking of what may be one or more wikis to create and make available, initially as a personal contribution, with the intention of inviting compatible contributors but not trying to deal with the politics of a fully open wiki. The first goal is to preserve and extend the politicomilitary material I produced at CZ. When I looked a while back, I had started perhaps 20% of the articles.

I also want to start a resource in other professional areas of mine, beginning with provider-oriented computer networking, and then probably spreading into medicine and medical informatics. ("I'm not a physician but I play one on a computer").

Unfortunately, I don't know Wiki software well enough to do bulk extracts and copies from CZ, of material I've edited. I am probably up to writing Perl (or if I learn Python) scripts to change templates for the target wiki. As I get back into programming, though, I hope to use semantic web technology to explore political and power networks.

You can contact me at hcb at netcases dot net.

Тytalk04:35, 20 July 2012

A problem existed with the Kirk Cameron page and probably exists with other pages that have the {{raycomfort}} template, perhaps/probably with other templates too. In earlier versions of the page the {{raycomfort}} wasn’t above the highest link that was between <ref></ref>. In this earlier version links above the {{raycomfort}} template didn’t appear in footnotes and the wrong links appear there. I mentioned this in the Talk page. You can check this problem by clicking onto This old version of the page. Can you do anything?

Proxima Centauri (talk)08:29, 13 July 2012

It's a known bug with the parser. You just need to have anything that uses dpl, such as random-article templates, to appear above any references.

Scarlet A.pngnarchist10:16, 13 July 2012

A bug fixed with DPL 2.0. We should upgrade.

Yah, it is time to look towards upgrading. The main thing I need to do is get rwbeta running again to test this shit instead of dumping it on live and crossing my fingers.

Tmtoulouse (talk)17:36, 14 July 2012

DPL 2.0 isn't publicly available, and it's been largely abandoned.

Thanks. It'll be for hosting chunks of my radio show and related stuff, so the bandwidth use will be higher than average. Is that OK? Also, how long will you have this hosting capacity for?

Sophiebecause liberals16:42, 14 July 2012

Well depends exactly how much bandwidth we are talking, pipe size is limited to 35 Mbps, and if you think you will be pulling more than 100 gb a month would need to discuss a custom arrangement. I plan on having the hosting capacity indefinitely. It is currently pre-paid through 2013.

Tmtoulouse (talk)17:17, 14 July 2012

I can't imagine it getting that high, unless my show takes off, which I don't foresee.

Wrong number of seats for mod election results

Hey Trent. Nx pointed out that in the past, the mod election results were based on seven seats, with the last two eliminated as alternates. However, you used a nine seats for the most recent election, which gave a slightly different result - two of the elected mods and the alternates were different. The discussion and data are here. If Nx is correct, Armondikov and Weaseloid were actually elected in place of Reckless Noise Symphony and DickTurpis, with Reckless Noise Symphony and Human as alternates in place of Armondikov and Weaseloid.
