Shouldn't this whole category be in with the Conservapedia category?Prof0705 15:34, 29 May 2007 (CDT)

By my reading of the docs at least, Category: is its own magic namespace, and you can't have categories inside other categories. --jtltalk 17:42, 29 May 2007 (CDT)
Actually, you can easily have categories within categories (you should just avoid cycles, I think). The result's called "subcategory". For an example I noticed today, see the US History category on CP - it has subcategories and is in the History category. --Sid 18:18, 29 May 2007 (CDT)
And the official Help page section: wp:Help:Category#Subcategories --Sid 18:20, 29 May 2007 (CDT)
However, you are right: "Category" is a somewhat special namespace since the actual category listing is not part of the editable category page. Which often leads to odd results, for example when you want to transclude the category page. --Sid 18:24, 29 May 2007 (CDT)
Er, yes. I meant "you can't have categories inside other namespaces". At least that's my story now.
So we can't do Conservapedia:Category:Sysop Gambits, but we could do Category:Conservapedia:Sysop Gambits. --jtltalk 19:09, 29 May 2007 (CDT)
Ohhhhhhhhh. Yes, that makes sense. Would be an interesting function, actually. Bit on the complicated side, but interesting. --Sid 08:49, 30 May 2007 (CDT)
