Debate:Incogman vs. Interpreted & others is listed here, but if you try following the link, you end up at Debate:Incogman vs. Interpreted. Because "Interpreted & others" doesn't even exist as a redirect, the same page is effectively listed twice here. Anyone know how to fix it? --Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 14:04, 8 February 2008 (EST)

Yup, it's that &: wiki don't like 'em. I've done similar & lost things in the void. I suspect it'll take oversight to sort (tmt/linus). SusanMiouw 14:11, 8 February 2008 (EST)
Should we ask them on their talk pages or wait for them to notice this page? --Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 14:14, 8 February 2008 (EST)
Trying something ... Ask tmt if you want. SusanMiouw 14:24, 8 February 2008 (EST)
URL encode it. I'll do so. --Linus(plot evil tech) 14:34, 8 February 2008 (EST)
Is there something at Debate:Incogman vs. Interpreted & others that doesn't exist at Debate:Incogman vs. Interpreted? --Linus(plot evil tech) 14:39, 8 February 2008 (EST)

Can you just change & to and SusanMiouw 14:47, 8 February 2008 (EST)

Sure. --Linus(plot evil tech) 15:28, 8 February 2008 (EST)

Hey, any chance I could get Debate:Why a Progressive Tax? added to the Category:Debates page? Cannot figure out how to do it. I'm certain I probably screwed up somewhere... BlueSprite 15:39, 2 December 2008 (EST)

I think if you add the debate template {{debate}} to it, it will be done automatically. Or, you can put [[category:debates]] at the bottom of the page.

Jamie Glazov's United in Hate[edit]

I saw this book at my local Barnes & Nobel.

http://www.amazon.com/United-Hate-Romance-Tyranny-Terror/dp/1935071602

And I felt that was quite claim to make on the front cover of his book. So I as you folks here, does his argument hold any water? — Unsigned, by: 24.0.105.204 / talk / contribs June 27 2009

Any one want share their two cents here?

Well, the book looks like utter trash to me. But this is a strange talk page to bring it up on... The saloon bar might be a better place to get a discussion started (link in "community" box to the left). ħumanUser talk:Human 20:47, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the tip. I'm still trying to get the hang of this.

No problem. ħumanUser talk:Human 23:06, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

deceitful displaytitle[edit]

No, I don't think it is needed. We don't do it with the other category portals, do we? I know it confused me once... ħumanUser talk:Human 00:13, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

date a debate stared[edit]

Is there some way of seeing at glance when any of these debates were started? I fee like sticking my oar in a few of em but they all seemed to have ended sometime ago--AMassiveGay (talk) 16:51, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

Check the history/"Fossil Record" of the individual debate. MDB (talk) 16:59, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
Unfortunately, no—not as things are. Displaying the date of their last edit would be a good idea, though. By the way, debates don't "end" here—you can restart them whenever you want. Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 17:01, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── This is very old, I know, but I thought I'd add the solution (note: I limited the count to avoid adding too-long lists). It's simple using the DPL wiki software extension installed on this wiki. Note however, pages in subcategories of "Debates" (there's only one of those) are not listed below. But the wikitext "category=debates" can be replaced with "namespace=Debate" in the {{#dpl:...}} used below, to list all debate pages instead of only categorized ones. I put the automatic lists under the two "Automatic list of ..." headings below. --ApooftGnegiol (talk) 20:10, 12 April 2021 (UTC)

Automatic list of 20 most recently edited[edit]

Automatic list of 10 oldest (first edit date) pages[edit]

active debates[edit]

Would be fantastic if there were a way to have a category or similar for active debates. I'd love to participate in some of these, but atm one needs to follow Special:RecentChanges to see any active debates. Kauri0.o (talk) 03:44, 17 March 2021 (UTC)

Now there's automated lists added above. The same kind of thing could be turned into a real navigation solution if people care to do so. --ApooftGnegiol (talk) 20:09, 12 April 2021 (UTC)

List of debate pages not in the Debates category (using DPL)[edit]

These pages would seem to be a problem (as in they should be categorized), given that the category is used to navigate. Unless you change to using a listing based on the namespace instead. --ApooftGnegiol (talk) 20:03, 12 April 2021 (UTC)

I fixed most of the true debate pages and got rid of some unnecessary and off-topic stubs. The list should show only sub-pages and various other non-debate stuff now. —cosmikdebris talk stalk 21:08, 12 April 2021 (UTC)
I missed handling subpages correctly. I fixed it, adding "includesubpages=false", so now there are no results. And if results (new uncategorized pages) appear in the future, subpages won't be among them. --ApooftGnegiol (talk) 14:04, 13 April 2021 (UTC)
