The Common Purpose meetings, held in Washington, D.C., are a means for the administration to co-ordinate liberal media responses to current events.

This apparently demonstrates that the liberal media like being told what to say, for instance when banks threatened to not cooperate with financial reforms unless they got their bonuses -- and normally critical parts of the media decided, simultaneously, not to rock the boat.[1]
