- DLP - (n) reference to the Dead Links Project, an initiative to find and fix external links that no longer work or the web app compiling and tracking a list of them. Nowadays, it's usually spotted in edit summaries, where it signifies that this change removed or modified a "dead" external link.
[edit] E
- ec, EC - sometimes included in brackets at the start of discussion page posts, short for "edit conflict" (see below) - indicates that someone else posted before one could finish writing their post. It usually means that the new post may repeat some of the points of the slightly-older one.
- edit conflict - (n) what happens when someone else has saved a change to the page after you started editing and their changes are incompatible with yours. As a result, when you try to save your version, MediaWiki displays an "edit conflict" page that is supposed to help you reconcile the two changes. Really annoying on large, highly trafficked discussion pages such as the Saloon Bar.

- Irony meter: a (fictional?) device for measuring irony. Often overused in WIGOs and therefore deprecated.
- Origins: Unknown.
- I thought this was supposed to be RATIONALWiki! - a variant of phrases used by critics of RationalWiki who question of the rationality of the site's stances and content. See Essay:I thought this was supposed to be RATIONALWiki. The phrase has become something of a RW meme, and the

- Lenski - refers to the Lenski Affair from Conservapedia.
- Lulz - (n) - a variation of "L-O-L." LOL is the acronym for Laughing Out Loud, which, though a verb phrase, has morphed into a noun to refer to a laugh. "Lulz" is the word coined by the LJ Drama/Encyclopædia Dramatica/GNAA/Bantown bunch for audible schadenfreude.
- Lurk - (v) - to hang about silently with recent changes constantly refreshed, kibitzing on various talk pages. A lurker may opportunistically make a comment and then return to silent lurking. It eventually got cut off entirely, and now freely floats.

This isn't IP theft, but rather finding a way that someone has done something neat, appropriating the code, gutting it, and turning a bastardised version of it to one's own use. Contrast forks (of which "spork" is a play on words), which are exactly the same as the original, or at least start out that way.
