Conservapedia (and religious fundamentalism to an extent) was a major focal point in the early history of RationalWiki, but long ago ceased coming up with new ways to appall and amuse.
Our energies are now spent debunking other, fresher examples of pseudoscientific claims, authoritarianism, and deceit.

According to Conservapedia, a liberal is either (1) someone of whom RobS disapproves,[1] or, (2) someone who is not a Conservapedia sysop. As a consequence of this overlapping definition, coupled with the genuine hatred which Conservapedia sysops bear towards each other, the only true "conservatives" are Andrew Schlafly, BethanyS, and Ronald Reagan. And Andrew Schlafly is in doubt.

Usage[edit]

On Conservapedia the word "liberal" is applied by the site's administrators, editors and assorted parodists as a synonym for "evildoer", and goes nicely hand-in-hand or is otherwise interchangeable with "atheist". Once an editor has been denounced as "liberal", it is safe to assume that they will be removed from the site quickly and permanently. Conservapedia's article "Liberal" has over 1,000 links to it from Conservapedia mainspace articles alone.[2][3] A navigation box entitled "Liberal characteristics and traits" includes links to the following articles:[4]

Basic Traits[edit]

Conservapedia's definition of liberal[6] is largely determined by Andrew Schlafly. To him, "liberal" means:

  • Deceit
  • Falsehoods
  • Any political viewpoint or ideology he doesn't agree with or doesn't like
  • Anyone who is dissentient to the conservative editorial body at Conservapedia
  • Empirically proven science
  • Anyone he doesn't like
  • Anything he doesn't like
  • Anyone or anything that causes problems for him
  • Facts
  • Anything that he perceives as not conservative
  • Mockery
  • Goths (possibly)
  • Pedophiles

Identification[edit]

Liberals can be easily identified by their insistence on NOT being liberal.

Most liberals will self identify as "conservative" but will waffle on the one true issue, exposing them as the lying dogs they are.

Notes[edit]

  1. In an annoying meme, "liberal" is often abbreviated to "lib'rul" by cabal members.
