A modest proposal[edit]

I'm not usually one to go in for wandalism, the only thing in that line is to add the "weapon of gun" ascii art to the appropriate page. However, given Andy's recent behaviour, I propose that on Conservapedia day we give him a taste of his own medicine. I suggest a stockpiling of socks for the big day, and for a 24 hour period each and every edit Schlafly makes should be mercilessly reverted and godspeeded, just like he does to anyone who disagrees with him. I wonder how long it'd take him to snap and threaten the FBI? --JeevesMkII 16:17, 16 September 2008 (EDT)

It sounds nice, but we'd need a lot of socks. Personally, I like to hoard mine, so if I took part I would be making brand new ones. Shall we come up with some numbers? How about ten accounts per person? (People interested should probably sign their names in this thread so we'll know roughly how many "troops" we'll have.) I bet they lock down editing for the day now and only leave it open for sysops and arch brown nosers like Bugler. Bondurant 16:40, 16 September 2008 (EDT)
If they do that, we win. SirChuckBWhatever happened to Skip It? 16:46, 16 September 2008 (EDT)
I would like to, but I will still be blocked at that point. Plus, I don't have school that day, so I can't use any of their computers for reverting wars. AlexM, why'd you start early?!Candlewick 16:56, 16 September 2008 (EDT)
Y'all do understand that a) in the end of any exchange his edit will be left standing, b) you'll probably just attract huge attention from the other sysops as they defend the walls, and c) you'll drive up the traffic numbers for that day, causing "Conservapedia Day" to be a big success. How exactly do you win at this? 97.113.29.32 17:45, 16 September 2008 (EDT) PS Even if you don't think "a" or "b" make a difference, "c" will be the only long-lasting memento of the day...

Taking part[edit]

It's fascinating, though not the least bit surprising, that you have no care whose IPs you get blocked due to your jackassery. 67.135.49.198 18:38, 17 September 2008 (EDT)
Why should we, dum-dum? People barred from helping CP = success. New3.pngPink(Astronomy Domine) 18:47, 17 September 2008 (EDT)
Also, wouldn't it be a good idea to ask that question of your buddy Karajou? He's ever so fond of blocking the occasional 2^16 IP addresses. --JeevesMkII 18:50, 17 September 2008 (EDT)
Jinx hi Jinx! - Haven't you anything better to do than read WIGO? There's a whole heap of crap that needs sorting out on CP, but oh, I forgot, you dont do editing or anything creative. You're just a revert and block thug. Redchuck.gif ГенгисRationalWiki GOLD member 18:55, 17 September 2008 (EDT)

Opposed[edit]

  • I tend to think this would be a flash in the pan. I'm all for interesting things happening to CP, but I think we need a little more creativity than this. Stile4aly 18:11, 16 September 2008 (EDT)
  • Agreed. Chuck - you've got mail. --SpinyNorman 18:28, 16 September 2008 (EDT)
  • I agree with Stile... we need a better idea. Like replacing every image on the site with balloons, cake, goat pilaf, etc. Our site or theirs, whichever is easier ;) ħumanUser talk:Human 19:17, 16 September 2008 (EDT)
  • I think the idea would be a good one if it could be done effectively, but it will likely be snuffed out quickly and only noticed by us goat lovers. Thus, it will be too few lulz for the effort. I think we should concentrate instead on how ( and where) we are going to anounce the winners of the 2nd annual periodic Biggest Idiots on Conservapedia Awards. Exasperate me!Sheesh! Not the most impressive contributor here 19:28, 16 September 2008 (EDT)
  • I'm all in favour of spooky thinks happening to CP on CP Day, but I think the idea of just reverting Andy's edits is kindofa buzzkill. It will piss a few people off but involves a bunch of us committing to a fairly tedious & uncreative activity over & over again. Much better to have some fun & cause some chaos, which should include a few reversons, but plenty of other stuff too. weaseLOIdWeaselly.jpg~ 20:48, 16 September 2008 (EDT)
  • Can't we come up with something clever, like everyone creates a nice, well-cited article about a GLBT historical figure or something? (Not mentioning the GLBT part, of course, as that will give it away.) --Too tired to log in 23:03, 16 September 2008 (EDT)
  • Nowhere near funny enough for the effort required. I like the GLBT article idea. We should each pick a very popular GLBT figure and create a well-researched and well-cited article about that person ahead of time. Probably don't want to save it anywhere on here, or else those that read this page will be prepared.--Tom Moorefiat justitia ruat coelum 23:32, 16 September 2008 (EDT)
  • Not so sure I'm in favour of wandalism. Inserting that thing called "Truth" into a few articles, that's another matter. Still I think that the sysops will be on high alert, especially as they read us closely, and so they'll be handing out perma-bans first and not asking questions later. And I only have 2 ip addresses I can use. Bondurant 04:03, 17 September 2008 (EDT)
  • I'm in the Wandalism-isn't-productive camp. It gets reverted right away, and just makes the sysops even more trigger-happy with blocks and the banhammer. I'd rather go on the record saying that it would be better to celebrate CP Day here on RW instead with a comprehensive awards ceremony. Let's agree on some categories, and award Bronze, Silver and Goat medals so credit can be shared where credit is due. A page of the Best-of-the-WorstBest from CP over the past 12 months would be a classic. Final thought - have one set of awards for WIGO categories, and one set for personality-related categories. --SpinyNorman 06:14, 17 September 2008 (EDT)
Final, final thought - No celebration of "CP Day" would be complete unless we present our "Honorary RationalWikian of the Year" award, and for 2008 it's not even close - congratulations, Richard Lenski, for showing us all what "Professor Values" are supposed to mean. Anyone good at making certificates? --SpinyNorman 06:57, 17 September 2008 (EDT)

Boycott[edit]

CЯacke®

I dont know about a boycott. I suggested on the Idoit awards that perhaps we present the awards on Conservapedia Day. I dont wanna miss the virtual party, particularly as I think Ed Poor will vomit on the couch and Bugler will start a fight. More like Smeg Ed will grope the homskollars behind the couch. I can just see Bungler swigging down half a pint of shandy and staggering around going "You wan' a piece o' me?" --PsyGremlinWhut? 06:28, 17 September 2008 (EDT)
I'd pay money to see that. Armondikov 06:34, 17 September 2008 (EDT)

Goat[edit]

We could sacrifice a goat or 12..at least then we'd get the chance of a nice stew. Other than that I would suggest we join in the spirit and publicise their biggest idiocies and idoits as widely as possible outside CP on that day. Mick McT 04:12, 17 September 2008 (EDT)

Stew? What about curry goat? Totnesmartin 04:53, 17 September 2008 (EDT)

What if?[edit]

What if Bugler reveals himself on CP day and helps out by blocking the sysops while the socks do the work? It would be beautiful. Of course, that just relies on Bugler wanting to come out on that day... Either that or someone can start a DoS attack for the duration of CP Day but that's far too nerdy. Armondikov 06:15, 17 September 2008 (EDT)

The mob has spoken[edit]

Ah well, I thought it was a good idea anyway. --JeevesMkII 07:44, 17 September 2008 (EDT)
