So, when I decided to explore and refute Conspiracy Theories for a while, I've found something out: Sure PrisonPlanet, and RT are cool places for Conspiracy theorists, but nothing, I repeat, NOTHING can outmatch Youtube. I'm probably saying the most obvious thing of the year, but seriously! If you search "Illuminati exposed" on Youtube, you get thousands of hits. While I'm personally like to use Youtube for gaming and entertainment purposes, like for example watching Markiplier, or listening to my music, like Dark Side of the Moon, Conspiracy theorists are too busy listening to a rant about nano technology in our water supply, Listening to whatever URGENT!!! message Michelle Hopkins thought up in her head, whatever The Vigilant Christian looked too much into. Why is Youtube such serious business to them? Why do they cite Youtube so much? Why are all these youtubers I've mentioned become famous for repeating the same crap over and over? I will go over reasons I infer to be the cause of this.

It's the best they can do[edit]

Conspiracy theories, by definition, are on the fringe side of the internet. No evidence supports most of them. No reputable scientist [ahem, [Shill gambit|shills] agrees that the World Trade Center was detonated from the inside, neither do they believe Chemtrails are depopulating the earth. Therefore, they need Youtube.

The flexibility of video editing[edit]

Since video making (and editing) is, quite frankly, not that hard. It's not hard to make Obama seem like he's declaring Martial Law When he is really meaning to say it doesn't work.

Other traits in videos include:

  • A presentation full of out of context news reports
  • people claiming to blow the whistle on these Conspiracy Theories
  • Not only this, but the interface of Youtube allows you to disable the comments (which I personally see as a red flag the video is Bullshit), disable likes/dislikes (Again if this is the case, the video is BS), and you can even control what comments go in the comments section! With such flexibility, it's hard to not love Youtube when you want to con people.

You get to morph history the way you want it.[edit]

You know how we refuted a lot of the Illuminati hand signs, and made it very clear that the Illuminati was formed in the 18th century? Well, we've got videos changing that now. There are videos describing the "6000 year history" of the New World Order[1]. I've recently seen someone try say the American flag is freemason because of the star and stripe origins in egyptian mythology. No, really!.

Suggestions at the right[edit]

It's said the more you're told something, the more you think it's true. The syggestions at the right are a perfect example (at least for me). I have (deagnosed) OCD, and apparently my compulsion is to search stuff like this (yeah it's stupid,l but whatever). Whenever I get an urge to search something stupid like "Illuminati proof" or "NWO Whistleblower", I get stuck, possibly for hours, watching the videos, BECAUSE OF THE SUGGESTIONS! This is probably just me, because of my OCD, but I'm going on a tangent.

The bottom line: Suggestions = repeated assertions. Repeated assertions =/= truth, however, it can make you believe is more subconciously.

Conclusion[edit]

Yeah, crapsack essay. I'm tired. i might revise it sometime, but what do you guys personally think? Would you agree with my reasons? Do you have reasons to add?

Footnotes[edit]

  1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-klNO-AjW6M The comments section isn't much better. People actually think videos like this cover matters of public record!
