Description
English: The Oppenheimer Diamond, named after Ernest Oppenheimer, a gold mining entrepreneur, is one of the biggest uncut diamonds. This diamond is a nearly perfectly-formed yellow diamond crystal weighing about 253.7 carats (50.74 g). It measures approximately 20 × 20 millimeters and was discovered in 1964 at the Dutoitspan Mine, Kimberly, South Africa.
Français : Le Diamant Oppenheimer, nommé en l'honneur d'Ernest Oppenheimer, un entrepreneur des mines d'or, est un des plus gros diamant brut au monde. Ce diamant est un cristal jaune de forme régulière pesant environ 253,7 carats (50,74 g). Il mesure approximativement 20 × 20 millimetres, et a été découvert en 1964 à la mine de Dutoitspan, en Afrique du Sud.
