Summary[edit]

Leviathan or The Matter, Forme and Power of a Common Wealth Ecclesiasticall and Civil Front Cover A classic work of medieval statist religious philosophy. The contemporary Government Religion is largely based around its conceptualization of a supernatural governmental deity Hobbes calls the "Leviathan". In modern parlance this deity is often called "the state" or the "United States of America".
