I love it and its use, however, fair use only applies to satirizing (etc) the subject of the image.

Sadly, we aren't using it for that. ħumanUser talk:Human 03:09, 7 August 2008 (EDT)

Agree. Otherise we are guilty of applying the Joaquin Martinez fair-use rationale. Jollyfish.gifGenghisOur ignorance is God; what we know is science. 04:37, 7 August 2008 (EDT)
So, are we gonna burn this or are we going to conveniently find a good excuse to keep it? NightFlarei haz a talk page. 08:47, 17 August 2008 (EDT)
Maybe we could sort of make a tracing of it that is legible but not the original image? Otherwise, the jinx baiting article will suffer immeasurably! ħumanUser talk:Human 16:55, 17 August 2008 (EDT)

Oh, yeah. Long ago I told myself I would delete this if we didn't find an excuse to keep it, so... five more minutes? NightFlare 07:33, 27 January 2009 (EST)

Ok, I see there was some discussion.... Sorry about that... But before we go nuking pages, can we give other people a chance to at least have some input....... Ok, here's my input, let's at least find something else to use. SirChuckBEl...ipses are Cool... 10:54, 28 January 2009 (EST) PS, when deleting images, leave the talk pages up for a few days so people know what happened.
Leave the talk page up forever, you mean. ħumanUser talk:Human 16:24, 28 January 2009 (EST)
Ok, help me out, are you serious about that?? Or just having some fun? SirChuckBEl...ipses are Cool... 18:57, 28 January 2009 (EST)
I was serious... there's no need to delete a talk page. ħumanUser talk:Human 19:10, 28 January 2009 (EST)
Indeed, never deleting talk pages has been a pseudo-official policy for some time now. Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 19:13, 28 January 2009 (EST)
Unspoken rule (usually): never, ever, delete a talk page. We'd end up like CP that way. --"ConservapediaUndergroundResistor'This isn't wookiepedia, fanboy.' 19:34, 28 January 2009 (EST)
It's not unspoken, it's been in the guidelines since Day Two. It's not about being the "anti-CP", really so much as preserving all of our discussions and, of course, drunken rants. ħumanUser talk:Human 20:09, 28 January 2009 (EST)
Wierd. Never noticed it. But do we really approve of drunken rants? --"ConservapediaUndergroundResistor'This isn't wookiepedia, fanboy.' 20:11, 28 January 2009 (EST)
If we didn't we would have to remove most of what I do on this wiki. Hell the whole server is basically a manifestation of a drunken rant. tmtoulouse 20:12, 28 January 2009 (EST)

(unident) Except me and the electricutioner- we're the sober ones around here. Though you'd never notice. --"ConservapediaUndergroundResistor'This isn't wookiepedia, fanboy.' 20:14, 28 January 2009 (EST)

Maybe that is the problem? tmtoulouse 20:15, 28 January 2009 (EST)
The problem is that I'm a bored teenager, not that I'm sober. Now, we must fight the daleks! They are the anti-goat! --"ConservapediaUndergroundResistor'This isn't wookiepedia, fanboy.' 20:18, 28 January 2009 (EST)
The reason you are a bored teenager is that you are sober......really....they go toghther. tmtoulouse 20:22, 28 January 2009 (EST)
I'm not bored when I'm on here. Usually. So much goes on! Let's show the daleks some goat! We'll shove it up their article! --"ConservapediaUndergroundResistor'This isn't wookiepedia, fanboy.' 20:23, 28 January 2009 (EST)

I don't need to be intoxicated. Just give me access to the computer, a puzzle, a cat, a good book, a large amount of cooking ingrediants, enough cash to enter a zoo (or museum, park, etc.), etc. ad infintum and I'll be un-bored. --"ConservapediaUndergroundResistor'This isn't wookiepedia, fanboy.' 20:40, 28 January 2009 (EST)

Back on topic, doesn't fair use allow material to satirise something not in the content, like our comparison of McCain to Abe Simpson? - User 20:25, 28 January 2009 (EST)

No. That ain't fair use either. It's just one of the longstanding violations that we collectively turn a blind eye to. €₳$£ΘĪÐWeaselly.jpgMethinks it is a Weasel 20:46, 28 January 2009 (EST)
Yeah, I never got quite why we deleted it. I don't have a great reputation for judging copyright, but it is satire. --"ConservapediaUndergroundResistor'This isn't wookiepedia, fanboy.' 20:40, 28 January 2009 (EST)
I think it's the principle of the thing, we shouldn't chide CP for openly and flagrently violating Fair use if we do it ourselves, and I agree with the position, the only thing that gave me pause was the seeming lack of discussion, which I found when restoring the page, and Human, Thank you for clearing that up... I knew I did it, but I didn't know it was policy. SirChuckBEl...ipses are Cool... 20:50, 28 January 2009 (EST)
