Forum:I just signed up, and have created a user account with uncommon descent: troll advice?

Title pretty much says it all. I'm new to this, but would like to create great sadness for Idiot Design advocates (acolytes?). Any input is welcome! — Unsigned, by: BeeAitch / talk / contribs 2011-10-23T22:08:48

Here's my input. Stop acting like an asshole. Go learn the science and rhetoric on both sides so you can be an effective anti-creationist rather than a mere troll. Nutty Roux100x100 anarchy symbol.svg 05:27, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
{ec}Well, I'm pretty sure the community standards frown on this sort of discussion, but let me see if I can draw from my experiences as an EDiot
  1. Fundies usually have a very low tolerance for mockery. Don't go over there and call them idiots, or you'll get banned before you know it.
  2. Do as they do. Capitalize God, avoid swearing, and claim you're praying for the heathens
  3. Should you get into an argument with someone, subtly use logical fallacies, preferably ones they use themselves (they're creationists: you won't have any problems with your repertoire). After a certain point, claim that they've lost and that every response they give only shows that they crave your attention. If they stop responding, declare you've won and that your opponent has run away with his tail between his legs.
  4. Ask questions you know they can't answer, under the guise (wow, normally when I write that I mean guys) of curiosity and, dare I say it, concern. Try linking to RationalWiki or talk.origins pages and asking what the proper response would be.
  5. Bring up news items with controversial fundie actions, such as a pastor saying all gays should be put to death or some crap like that, speak of it in a favorable tone and ask others their opinions. Imply that they aren't true believers for not supporting the likes of Fred Phelps.
  6. Sow dissent among the different denominations. Turn Catholics on Baptists and Presbyterians on Mormons.
  7. Show up with an absurd interpretation of a Biblical verse. Something that will have them scratching their heads
  8. Ask what happens to uncontacted peoples if they never are given a chance to be saved. Cause a debate on predestination.
  9. Invoke Biblical passages such as the story of the Tower of Babel and use them as justification for things like segregation. You shouldn't have any problem finding "scholars" to back your bigotry
  10. Claim that you follow the ritual law present in Leviticus.
That's all I got for now.--User:Brxbrx/sig 05:30, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
So, concern troll them? I prefer Nutty's advice... Peter talk, or type, or whatever... 05:41, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
Brx, if you want war you got it. You're still a troublemaker who seems to never say the right thing. And that's all you got. ICR is right about your approach. it's the same thing you've been doing here for 6 months while professing to want order. Nutty Roux100x100 anarchy symbol.svg 13:23, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
I do find it ironic that Brx, who professes firm belief in "teh rulz" has just broken one of the most important. Whilst we laugh at trolling we do not condone it. We are Rational Wiki, not Troll Wiki. Bad Faith (talk) 13:30, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
Why do people keep coming here asking us for advice on how to troll other websites? Fuck off to ED or 4chan if that's all you're interested in. CrundyTalk nerdy to me 14:22, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
