Forum:Translation into German

Good day!

I just registered on RationalWiki though I have known and used this website for years. I would be intrested in translating existing articles on here into German. Compared, Germany has a rather small creationist community, but especially where I grew up, there are quite a few. So I thought it would be a very good thing, if more people who are searching online for help and answers would find German articles to get into the base of the discussion. When I got into the discussion I found myself kind of left "alone", as there are only few German websites who collect so much on the topic, especially about the big young-earth-creationist community in the US, who constantly try to pump their beliefs into German heads. I've come across quite a lot people here who introduce their books and videos into the German "market".

I just assume it is generally welcome. I could use some basic information how to create articles in different languages and post them on here, so they would be linked to the original one. I am not yet familiar with wiki system so please excuse any error in form.

Funny, I've thought that we didn't have many German contributors because Psiram/EsoWatch already existed.
Anyway, if you really want to contribute to RW instead of somewhere else: See Help:Contents for a general introduction to wiki-editing. As for article translation, the general practice has been to create pages in the particular language and put them in the appropriate language category, using one of these templates in the article in English to link to the respective other-language one (Template:De already exists). See RationalWiki:Languages for a bit more information. The Russian translation effort managed to gain enough participants to be spun off into a separate wiki, http://ru.rationalwiki.org. --ZooGuard (talk) 11:55, 12 March 2015 (UTC)
Guten Tag, Herzglass. We can always do with more contributors, and translation efforts are always appreciated around these parts.--Madman (talk) 12:39, 12 March 2015 (UTC)The Madman
