Hubble's Law states that the velocity of the recession of a galaxy is proportional to its distance in kiloparsecs multiplied by Hubble's constant, H. Astronomers have not yet pinned down a precise value for Hubble's constant. It is bound up with estimates of the age of the universe, which is currently thought to be around 13.7 billion years old and not the six thousand years postulated by Young Earth Creationists.
