Patriarch

In general, a Patriarch is the male head of a group - or a dominant caste of men. Hence the use of the term "patriarchy" to describe cultures where men are dominant over women and its use as a pejorative by feminists.

In Judeo-Christian mythology, the word is typically used to refer to either Abraham, Isaac or Jacob, or to the sons of Jacob, the twelve patriarchs from whom the twelve tribes of Israel are said to originate. These are mentioned in the Old Testament, although they aren't described as living to the ridiculously old ages described for Noah or Adam, they did live well over a century, Abraham being 175 when he died - which is odd as God decreed that humans wouldn't live passed 120 after the great flood.
