Occasionaluse/Nx/others

I have mod locked Occasionaluses talkpage (though I really think it should be unlocked as soon as the edit war can be resloved) to cease an epic edit battle by Occasionaluse and several other users. The page history is here and I felt their needed intervening as per "The main technical tools that moderators have, that sysops do not have, are: the ability to lock a page so that no one but moderators can edit it; to change all user rights; and to hide revisions from everyone. It's an attempted solution to the wheel warring we always get into. " So we need a solution. Aceof SpadesSilverbrain.png 12:50, 6 August 2011 (UTC)

What is the issue we are moderating, their behaviour or the rule they are edit-warring about? - π Moderator 13:12, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
The fact that this edit war has been going on for hours - just putting a little sanity into the situation so it'll finish. Aceof SpadesSilverbrain.png 13:13, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
Give them both a slap on the wrist block. - π Moderator 13:15, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
How about a smack in the face. Anyway, wans't so much a big deal. Just thought I'd announce why I'd used mod powers. I'll unlock shortly. Aceof SpadesSilverbrain.png 13:16, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
The crux is OC wants to remove this comment as trolling because P-Foster removed this comment and has no plans to cease edit warring. Aceof SpadesSilverbrain.png 13:53, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
Well if you like we can take a poll on the rule to see what the communities feelings actually are concerning with regards to user talk comments. - π Moderator
Ore O-Use could simply stop bein' a jerk. P-FosterAuthoritarian Prick.Moderator 14:01, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
Or that. Aceof SpadesSilverbrain.png 14:04, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
Given all the recent trouble, it seems like OccasionalUse might just be trying to perpetuate it by being a jerk like this. On the Coop, I've told him that if he keeps it up we'll desysop him if he reverts legitimate comments like this and blocks. If it becomes necessary to do anything more permanent (like work out a better specific rule here) then we can call a vote, but in this case I think another vote would actually be counter-productive.--ADtalkModerator 04:31, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
