Qur'an 26:1[edit]

Ta, Seen, Meem.

Qur'an 26:1 Notes[edit]

Random letters no one understands.

Qur'an 26:2[edit]

These are the Verses of the Clarifying Book.

Qur'an 26:2 Notes[edit]

What exactly does it clarify?

Qur'an 26:3[edit]

Perhaps you will destroy yourself with grief, because they do not become believers.

Qur'an 26:3 Notes[edit]

Muhammed apparantly is really frustrated here that many Arab clans didn't believe his nonsense.

Qur'an 26:4[edit]

If We will, We can send down upon them a sign from heaven, at which their necks will stay bent in humility.

Qur'an 26:4 Notes[edit]

Too bad that sign never came and he forced them to believe under threat.

Qur'an 26:5[edit]

No fresh reminder comes to them from the Most Merciful, but they turn their backs at it.

Qur'an 26:5 Notes[edit]

I guess those signs never came.

Qur'an 26:6[edit]

They have denied the truth, but soon will come to them the news of what they ridiculed.

Qur'an 26:6 Notes[edit]

Truth? Evidence please.

Qur'an 26:7[edit]

Have they not seen the earth, and how many beautiful pairs We produced therein?

Qur'an 26:7 Notes[edit]

That isn't evidence.

Qur'an 26:8[edit]

Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.

Qur'an 26:8 Notes[edit]

No, the fact that there are interesting things on Earth isn't proof of a singular god.

Qur'an 26:9[edit]

Most surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.

Qur'an 26:9 Notes[edit]

There is nothing sure about that.

Qur'an 26:10[edit]

Your Lord called to Moses, “Go to the tyrannical people.

Qur'an 26:10 Notes[edit]

Plagerising from the bible here.

Qur'an 26:11[edit]

The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear?”

Qur'an 26:11 Notes[edit]

This must have been confusing for people unfamiliar with the stories.

Qur'an 26:12[edit]

He said, “My Lord, I fear they will reject me.

Qur'an 26:12 Notes[edit]

This is new.

Qur'an 26:13[edit]

And I become stressed, and my tongue is not fluent, so send Aaron too.

Qur'an 26:13 Notes[edit]

He needed back up.

Qur'an 26:14[edit]

And they have a charge against me, so I fear they will kill me.”

Qur'an 26:14 Notes[edit]

It was a murderous time it seems.

Qur'an 26:15[edit]

He said, “No. Go, both of you, with Our proofs. We will be with you, listening.

Qur'an 26:15 Notes[edit]

What proof?

Qur'an 26:16[edit]

Go to Pharaoh, and say, ‘We are the Messengers of the Lord of the Worlds.

Qur'an 26:16 Notes[edit]

Anyone can claim to be a messenger.

Qur'an 26:17[edit]

Let the Children of Israel go with us.'“

Qur'an 26:17 Notes[edit]

Let my people go!

Qur'an 26:18[edit]

He said, “Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you stayed among us for many of your years?

Qur'an 26:18 Notes[edit]

I guess the answer is no.

Qur'an 26:19[edit]

And you committed that deed you committed, and you were ungrateful.”

Qur'an 26:19 Notes[edit]

Ungrateful for being ungrateful slaves.

Qur'an 26:20[edit]

He said, “I did it then, when I was of those astray.

Qur'an 26:20 Notes[edit]

Turns out there is little evidence in fact that Israelites were mass enslaved in Egypt.

Qur'an 26:21[edit]

And I fled from you when I feared you; but my Lord gave me wisdom, and made me one of the messengers.

Qur'an 26:21 Notes[edit]

But then, there is little evidence for most holy fables.

Qur'an 26:22[edit]

Is that the favor you taunt me with, although you have enslaved the Children of Israel?”

Qur'an 26:22 Notes[edit]

Again, there is doubt about this.

Qur'an 26:23[edit]

Pharaoh said, “And what is the Lord of the Worlds?”

Qur'an 26:23 Notes[edit]

Smart Pharoah, asking for proof.

Qur'an 26:24[edit]

He said, “The Lord of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them, if you are aware.”

Qur'an 26:24 Notes[edit]

Aware of what?

Qur'an 26:25[edit]

He said to those around him, “Do you not hear?”

Qur'an 26:25 Notes[edit]

I guess not.

Qur'an 26:26[edit]

He said, “Your Lord and the Lord of your ancestors of old.”

Qur'an 26:26 Notes[edit]

An allusion to the other gods.

Qur'an 26:27[edit]

He said, “This messenger of yours, who is sent to you, is crazy.”

Qur'an 26:27 Notes[edit]

Smart pharoah.

Qur'an 26:28[edit]

He said, “Lord of the East and the West, and everything between them, if you understand.”

Qur'an 26:28 Notes[edit]

I guess he doesn't understand.

Qur'an 26:29[edit]

He said, “If you accept any god other than me, I will make you a prisoner.”

Qur'an 26:29 Notes[edit]

Thought control. Religion control.

Qur'an 26:30[edit]

He said, “What if I bring you something convincing?”

Qur'an 26:30 Notes[edit]

Proof would be nice.

Qur'an 26:31[edit]

He said, “Bring it, if you are being truthful.”

Qur'an 26:31 Notes[edit]

He is being tested of his magic abilities.

Qur'an 26:32[edit]

So he cast his staff; and it was a serpent, plain to see.

Qur'an 26:32 Notes[edit]

Oh wow...a miracle!

Qur'an 26:33[edit]

And he pulled his hand; and it was white, for all to see.

Qur'an 26:33 Notes[edit]

OH MY GAWD! HOW DID HE DO THAT! NO WAYZ!

Qur'an 26:34[edit]

He said to the dignitaries around him, “This is a skilled magician.

Qur'an 26:34 Notes[edit]

Zheesh is he ever. Turning staffs into serpents?

Qur'an 26:35[edit]

He intends to drive you out of your land with his magic, so what do you recommend?”

Qur'an 26:35 Notes[edit]

Hard to realise here, but this means there is competition on the magic stage.

Qur'an 26:36[edit]

They said, “Delay him and his brother, and send recruiters to the cities.

Qur'an 26:36 Notes[edit]

To get other magicians (I am not joking here)

Qur'an 26:37[edit]

To bring you every experienced magician.”

Qur'an 26:37 Notes[edit]

It's a bloody Harry Potter showdown! I am not joking.

Qur'an 26:38[edit]

So the magicians were gathered for the appointment on a specified day.

Qur'an 26:38 Notes[edit]

Get out your wands!

Qur'an 26:39[edit]

And it was said to the people, “Are you all gathered?

Qur'an 26:39 Notes[edit]

There would have been a god damn mob watching this.

Qur'an 26:40[edit]

That we may follow the magicians, if they are the winners.”

Qur'an 26:40 Notes[edit]

And so it begins

Qur'an 26:41[edit]

When the magicians arrived, they said to Pharaoh, “Is there a reward for us, if we are the winners?”

Qur'an 26:41 Notes[edit]

That is how competitions work

Qur'an 26:42[edit]

He said, “Yes, and you will be among those favored.”

Qur'an 26:42 Notes[edit]

So it's like, no prize, just the glory.

Qur'an 26:43[edit]

Moses said to them, “Present what you intend to present.”

Qur'an 26:43 Notes[edit]

Bring it on!

Qur'an 26:44[edit]

So they threw their ropes and their sticks, and said, “By the majesty of Pharaoh, we will be the winners.”

Qur'an 26:44 Notes[edit]

Huzzah!

Qur'an 26:45[edit]

Then Moses threw his staff, and behold, it began swallowing their trickery.

Qur'an 26:45 Notes[edit]

Dumbeldore beats he whose name we do not say.

Qur'an 26:46[edit]

And the magicians fell down prostrating.

Qur'an 26:46 Notes[edit]

So amazed, they just converted to Judaism! Trick people into thinking an illusion is magic, and your religion wins.

Qur'an 26:47[edit]

They said, “We have believed in the Lord of the Worlds.

Qur'an 26:47 Notes[edit]

That's a really rapid full out conversion!

Qur'an 26:48[edit]

The Lord of Moses and Aaron.”

Qur'an 26:48 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:49[edit]

He said, “Did you believe in Him before I have given you permission? He must be your chief, who taught you magic. You will soon know. I will cut off your hands and feet on opposite sides, and I will crucify you all.”

Qur'an 26:49 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:50[edit]

They said, “No problem. To our Lord we will return.

Qur'an 26:50 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:51[edit]

We are eager for our Lord to forgive us our sins, since we are the first of the believers.”

Qur'an 26:51 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:52[edit]

And We inspired Moses: “Travel with My servants by night. You will be followed.”

Qur'an 26:52 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:53[edit]

Pharaoh sent heralds to the cities.

Qur'an 26:53 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:54[edit]

“These are a small gang.

Qur'an 26:54 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:55[edit]

And they are enraging us.

Qur'an 26:55 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:56[edit]

But we are a vigilant multitude.”

Qur'an 26:56 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:57[edit]

So We drove them out of gardens and springs.

Qur'an 26:57 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:58[edit]

And treasures and noble dwellings.

Qur'an 26:58 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:59[edit]

So it was. And We made the Children of Israel inherit them.

Qur'an 26:59 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:60[edit]

And they pursued them at sunrise.

Qur'an 26:60 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:61[edit]

When the two groups sighted each other, the followers of Moses said, “We are being overtaken.”

Qur'an 26:61 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:62[edit]

He said, “No; my Lord is with me, He will guide me.”

Qur'an 26:62 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:63[edit]

We inspired Moses: “Strike the sea with your staff.” Whereupon it parted, and each part was like a huge hill.

Qur'an 26:63 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:64[edit]

And there We brought the others near.

Qur'an 26:64 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:65[edit]

And We saved Moses and those with him, all together.

Qur'an 26:65 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:66[edit]

Then We drowned the others.

Qur'an 26:66 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:67[edit]

In that there is a sign, but most of them are not believers.

Qur'an 26:67 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:68[edit]

Surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.

Qur'an 26:68 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:69[edit]

And relate to them the story of Abraham.

Qur'an 26:69 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:70[edit]

When he said to his father and his people, “What do you worship?”

Qur'an 26:70 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:71[edit]

They said, “We worship idols, and we remain devoted to them.”

Qur'an 26:71 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:72[edit]

He said, “Do they hear you when you pray?

Qur'an 26:72 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:73[edit]

Or do they benefit you, or harm you?”

Qur'an 26:73 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:74[edit]

They said, “But we found our ancestors doing so.”

Qur'an 26:74 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:75[edit]

He said, “Have you considered what you worship.

Qur'an 26:75 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:76[edit]

You and your ancient ancestors?

Qur'an 26:76 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:77[edit]

They are enemies to me, but not so the Lord of the Worlds.

Qur'an 26:77 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:78[edit]

He who created me, and guides me.

Qur'an 26:78 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:79[edit]

He who feeds me, and waters me.

Qur'an 26:79 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:80[edit]

And when I get sick, He heals me.

Qur'an 26:80 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:81[edit]

He who makes me die, and then revives me.

Qur'an 26:81 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:82[edit]

He who, I hope, will forgive my sins on the Day of the Reckoning.”

Qur'an 26:82 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:83[edit]

“My Lord! Grant me wisdom, and include me with the righteous.

Qur'an 26:83 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:84[edit]

And give me a reputation of truth among the others.

Qur'an 26:84 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:85[edit]

And make me of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss.

Qur'an 26:85 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:86[edit]

And forgive my father—he was one of the misguided.

Qur'an 26:86 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:87[edit]

And do not disgrace me on the Day they are resurrected.

Qur'an 26:87 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:88[edit]

The Day when neither wealth nor children will help.

Qur'an 26:88 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:89[edit]

Except for him who comes to God with a sound heart.”

Qur'an 26:89 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:90[edit]

And Paradise will be brought near for the righteous.

Qur'an 26:90 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:91[edit]

And the Blaze will be displayed to the deviators.

Qur'an 26:91 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:92[edit]

And it will be said to them, “Where are those you used to worship?”

Qur'an 26:92 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:93[edit]

Besides God? Can they help you, or help themselves?”

Qur'an 26:93 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:94[edit]

Then they will be toppled into it, together with the seducers.

Qur'an 26:94 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:95[edit]

And the soldiers of Satan, all of them.

Qur'an 26:95 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:96[edit]

They will say, as they feud in it.

Qur'an 26:96 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:97[edit]

“By God, We were in evident error.

Qur'an 26:97 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:98[edit]

For equating you with the Lord of the Worlds.

Qur'an 26:98 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:99[edit]

No one misled us except the sinners.

Qur'an 26:99 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:100[edit]

Now we have no intercessors.

Qur'an 26:100 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:101[edit]

And no sincere friend.

Qur'an 26:101 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:102[edit]

If only we could have another chance, we would be among the faithful.”

Qur'an 26:102 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:103[edit]

Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.

Qur'an 26:103 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:104[edit]

Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.

Qur'an 26:104 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:105[edit]

The people of Noah disbelieved the messengers.

Qur'an 26:105 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:106[edit]

Their brother Noah said to them, “Do you not fear?

Qur'an 26:106 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:107[edit]

I am to you a faithful messenger.

Qur'an 26:107 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:108[edit]

So fear God, and obey me.

Qur'an 26:108 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:109[edit]

I ask of you no payment for this. My payment is only from the Lord of the Worlds.

Qur'an 26:109 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:110[edit]

So fear God, and obey me.”

Qur'an 26:110 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:111[edit]

They said, “Shall we believe in you, when it is the lowliest who follow you?”

Qur'an 26:111 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:112[edit]

He said, “What do I know about what they do?

Qur'an 26:112 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:113[edit]

Their account rests only with my Lord, if you have sense.

Qur'an 26:113 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:114[edit]

And I am not about to drive away the believers.

Qur'an 26:114 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:115[edit]

I am only a clear warner.”

Qur'an 26:115 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:116[edit]

They said, “If you do not refrain, O Noah, you will be stoned.”

Qur'an 26:116 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:117[edit]

He said, “My Lord, my people have denied me.

Qur'an 26:117 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:118[edit]

So judge between me and them decisively, and deliver me and the believers who are with me.

Qur'an 26:118 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:119[edit]

So We delivered him and those with him in the laden Ark.

Qur'an 26:119 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:120[edit]

Then We drowned the rest.

Qur'an 26:120 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:121[edit]

In that is a sign, but most of them are not believers.

Qur'an 26:121 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:122[edit]

Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.

Qur'an 26:122 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:123[edit]

Aad disbelieved the messengers.

Qur'an 26:123 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:124[edit]

When their brother Hud said to them, “Do you not fear?

Qur'an 26:124 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:125[edit]

I am to you a faithful messenger.

Qur'an 26:125 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:126[edit]

So fear God, and obey me.

Qur'an 26:126 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:127[edit]

I ask of you no payment for this. My payment is only from the Lord of the Worlds.

Qur'an 26:127 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:128[edit]

Do you build a monument on every height for vanity's sake?

Qur'an 26:128 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:129[edit]

And you set up fortresses, hoping to live forever?

Qur'an 26:129 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:130[edit]

And when you strike, you strike mercilessly?

Qur'an 26:130 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:131[edit]

So fear God, and obey me.

Qur'an 26:131 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:132[edit]

And reverence Him, who supplied you with everything you know.

Qur'an 26:132 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:133[edit]

He supplied you with livestock and children.

Qur'an 26:133 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:134[edit]

And gardens and springs.

Qur'an 26:134 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:135[edit]

I fear for you the punishment of an awesome Day.”

Qur'an 26:135 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:136[edit]

They said, “It is the same for us, whether you lecture us, or do not lecture.

Qur'an 26:136 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:137[edit]

This is nothing but morals of the ancients.

Qur'an 26:137 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:138[edit]

And we will not be punished.”

Qur'an 26:138 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:139[edit]

So they denied him, and We destroyed them. Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.

Qur'an 26:139 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:140[edit]

Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.

Qur'an 26:140 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:141[edit]

Thamood disbelieved the messengers.

Qur'an 26:141 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:142[edit]

When their brother Saleh said to them, “Do you not fear?

Qur'an 26:142 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:143[edit]

I am to you a faithful messenger.

Qur'an 26:143 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:144[edit]

So fear God, and obey me.

Qur'an 26:144 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:145[edit]

I ask of you no payment for it. My payment is only from the Lord of the Worlds.

Qur'an 26:145 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:146[edit]

Will you be left secure in what is here?

Qur'an 26:146 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:147[edit]

In gardens and springs?

Qur'an 26:147 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:148[edit]

And fields, and palm-trees whose fruits are delicious?

Qur'an 26:148 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:149[edit]

And you skillfully carve houses in the mountains?

Qur'an 26:149 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:150[edit]

So fear God, and obey me.

Qur'an 26:150 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:151[edit]

And do not obey the command of the extravagant.

Qur'an 26:151 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:152[edit]

Who spread turmoil on earth, and do not reform.”

Qur'an 26:152 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:153[edit]

They said, “You are surely one of the bewitched.

Qur'an 26:153 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:154[edit]

You are nothing but a man like us. So bring us a sign, if you are truthful.

Qur'an 26:154 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:155[edit]

He said, “This is a she-camel; she has her turn of drinking, and you have your turn of drinking—on a specified day.

Qur'an 26:155 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:156[edit]

And do not touch her with harm, lest the punishment of a great day seizes you.”

Qur'an 26:156 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:157[edit]

But they slaughtered her, and became full of remorse.

Qur'an 26:157 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:158[edit]

So the punishment overtook them. Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.

Qur'an 26:158 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:159[edit]

Your Lord is the Almighty, the Merciful.

Qur'an 26:159 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:160[edit]

The people of Lot disbelieved the messengers.

Qur'an 26:160 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:161[edit]

When their brother Lot said to them, “Do you not fear?

Qur'an 26:161 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:162[edit]

I am to you a faithful messenger.

Qur'an 26:162 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:163[edit]

So fear God, and obey me.

Qur'an 26:163 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:164[edit]

I ask of you no payment for it. My payment is only from the Lord of the Worlds.

Qur'an 26:164 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:165[edit]

Do you approach the males of the world?

Qur'an 26:165 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:166[edit]

And forsake the wives your Lord created for you? Indeed, you are intrusive people.”

Qur'an 26:166 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:167[edit]

They said, “Unless you refrain, O Lot, you will be expelled.”

Qur'an 26:167 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:168[edit]

He said, “I certainly deplore your conduct.”

Qur'an 26:189 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:190[edit]

Surely in this is a sign, but most of them are not believers.

Qur'an 26:190 Notes[edit]

Do you not see how they ramble in every style?

Qur'an 26:225 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:226[edit]

And how they say what they do not do?

Qur'an 26:226 Notes[edit]

Qur'an 26:227[edit]

Except for those who believe, and do good deeds, and remember God frequently, and defend themselves after they are wronged. As for those who do wrong, they will know by what overturning they will be overturned.
