We desire a secular movement enriched by the presence and influence of many kinds of people. We wish to be instrumental in increasing gender diversity within the secular community.[1]

Secular Woman, Inc. is a non-profit organization incorporated in the state of Georgia in June 2012. It is the first national membership organization dedicated exclusively to advancing the interests of atheist, humanist and other non-religious women. Secular Woman is currently[more detail please] preparing its application for recognition by the Internal Revenue Service of exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the tax code. Currently, the Founding Council of Secular Woman is serving as the organization's Board of Directors. As membership increases, Secular Woman's Board will evolve into a larger governing body.

Secular Woman envisions a future in which women without supernatural beliefs have the opportunities and resources they need to participate openly and confidently as respected voices of leadership in the secular community and every aspect of American society.

To accomplish this feat Secular Woman provides the following:

  • Conference grants: Secular Woman maintains a fund to make it possible for more women to attend secular conferences and related events in the United States.
  • Anti-harassment registry: Secular Woman provides a registry of anti-harassment policies and procedures in the secular community. They are not involved in the development, creation, maintenance, or updating of policies and procedures adopted by other organizations. Listed organizations are those who gave permission for their policies to be included.
  • Speakers' bureau: The Secular Woman Speakers Bureau furthers the mission by bringing more women's voices to secular and related events. The list includes speakers addressing a broad range of topics, not all directly related to atheism, secularism, or skepticism. The goal is diversity and therefore all who identify as female are encouraged to add their name to the list.
