Why[edit]

Why would the aliens want to invade the Earth - going by the junk TV they have probably been receiving over the past decades? Planets which have merely 'flitting critters and creepy crawlies and the equivalent stages of plant life', and 'Safariworlds' would make much more sense - the locals are not going to fight back, or attempt to corrupt the computers of the invading force. 212.85.6.26 (talk) 18:42, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

One type of invasion not discussed often in science fiction, but has been discussed as a theoretical scenario is self-replicating exploration machines unintentionally infesting an inhabited planet. Out of all unlikely in the extreme invasion scenarios, that would be the most likely. Of course, that is about as likely to occur as my winning the lottery that I don't play.Wzrd1 (talk) 16:57, 15 October 2012 (UTC)

The key question[edit]

Why invade-with-force rather than establish a colonial relationship - likely to be #much# cheaper #and# have 'the natives' (who are likely to vastly outnumber them and be 'fitted to the environment') on-side rather than coming up with ingenious ways to destroy the invasions/appropriate-without-payment anything that can be made use of.

Actually[edit]

We humans are the alien invasion. Anna Livia (talk) 15:10, 15 March 2019 (UTC)
