- Dammit, Doc, this one isn't a recipe. For God's sake! But, if you must, an article in the recipe namespace would not be amiss... I will tamper with the gravy, though. humanbe in 23:59, 12 June 2007 (CDT)
[edit] Category pseudoscience
Category pseudoscience? That's really stretching it, Trent. Pseudoreligion, maybe. FSM never claims to be a science, it merely competes with other religions for a place in the school curricula. humanbe in 15:39, 21 June 2007 (CDT)
- FSM came out during the ID push, it makes a "science" claim about the origin of species and of humans. The whole point of the satire took place against the back drop of a battle over pseudoscience. Things in the "pseudoscience" category are not "pseudosciences" per say, but topics that deal with those issues. And I think the history of FSM is that its an important player in the way people deal with the pseudoscience of ID and creationism. Tmtoulouse 15:43, 21 June 2007 (CDT)

My son's National Geographic Kids has a 2008 calendar, which officially recognises 19th September as "International (sic) Talk Like A Pirate Day". Is pirate speech - known to its speakers as "poirate-haharr!" ("Haharr!" is a punctuation in p-h) - the liturgical language ? And if so should this page and further posts not be translated into p-h? Perhaps we should pray for guidance while partaking of the Communion of Spag Bol ? Hoc enim corpus meum me hearties ! Amen. AVAST !

Actually, I think that agnosticism is the best attitude. I mean, I cannot prove the Spaghetti Monster exists - but I cannot disprove it either. Intelligent Falling is a convinvincing argument, but how do we KNOW it is the FSM pushing down, and not the hooves of the Invisible Pink Unicorn? I mean is there enough rigid pressure in a length of spaghetti, or would a dry piece of rigatone or even radiatori prove more effective ? Could the FSM evolve into another pasta-based supernatural life-forms ? Until these questions can be answered we should stick with what we know- which is that global warming has increased as the number of pirates has declined. And you cannot argue with that. Streona 09:11, 6 January 2008 (EST)
- Well, there are a few issues here. Do the followers of the Flying Spaghetti Monster make any claims about his influence on the physical realm? If they do then these could be tested , and if they were found to be untrue, then we could dismiss the FSM as myth. In this case agnosticism would not be appropriate. If, on the other hand, His followers claim that the makes no testable interventions in the real world then he might as well not exist. I suppose that you could then argue that an extreme agnostic position would be appropriate - but atheism would, for all practical purposes, be the same.--Bobbing up 09:34, 6 January 2008 (EST)
- As corollary of Blackbeard's Wager I uphold International Talk Like A Pirate Day just to be on the safe side.

You know, I once wrote an article for Uncyclopedia called the Flying Testicle Monster, because, well... those meatballs do kinda' look like testicles, don't they? --

I would have thought that the stripper factory would count equally for women too? The factory can make male strippers as well as female strippers. Also, the strippers are manufactured, and as such do not suffer for their work, much like the small boys assigned to male preists in the christian afterlife. RAmen Crundy 07:27, 28 July 2008 (EDT)
- You capitalized the letters "ra" for no discernible reason. I assume you were offering a prayer to me, then?

There is a ghastly pun to be created involving watching paint dry and paint strippers. Jackiespeel (talk) 18:19, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Meatballs vs sausage - a schism avoided
This issue was resolved at a very local level by borrowing from another religion, making FSM a triune god. His three aspects involve meatballs, sausage , and cheese. Macaroni and cheese is now considered a worshipful nod of the head to the spirit or FSM. 67.72.98.57 (talk) 04:41, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
[edit] Somali Pirates, a factor in Ocean cooling ?
I think not. The activities seem to be smallish boats of shallow draft , and coastal operations. This would not provide the ocean surface mixing of a good pirate galleon. 67.72.98.57 (talk) 05:21, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

Include some reference to paint stripper 'or similar products', and also female devotees 'and those of other persuasions' (animal, vegetable, mineral, pansexual, pangender etc etc). Or have the females converted to the Purple FSM? 82.44.143.26 (talk) 17:24, 29 March 2010 (UTC) 82.44.143.26 (talk) 17:24, 29 March 2010 (UTC) 82.44.143.26 (talk) 17:24, 29 March 2010 (UTC) 82.44.143.26 (talk) 17:24, 29 March 2010 (UTC)

[edit] Not a parody religion
See http://www.venganza.org/about/
This has probably been brought up before, but Pastafarianism is really a serious religion. It's not any more parody than other serious religions like Christianity, Maratreanism or Islam. So the category 'parody religions' is wrong. 'Non-Parody Religions' would be acceptable I guess.— Unsigned, by: Schroedinger's dog / talk / contribs
[edit] Recipes
Look ma, I made pasta and sauce almost as good as what you get in an Italian-American restaurant. And all I did was mix frozen vegetables that I’d bought with frozen quorn balls that I’d bought, pastas sauce that I bought and cheese that I bought. And I put it on the Internet so those kids and academics who spend too much time online have something quick and healthy they can prepare and will like eating. Aren't I proud? See Recipes. Well a few of the fruit and veg I used were home-frozen but the dish can work with all bought frozen vegetables.

- It would be better to keep the name Flying Spaghetti Monster, as the better known name, but be rewritten to better reflect its real world significance. The way this stands now, it just reads like some sort of shitty Uncyclopedia-style nonsensical internet meme rather than something that has actually been used to challenge the legal protections around intelligent design.
