Jesus Christ, You're Fucking KIDDING Me, Right?!?!?[edit]

"Greed...is one of several mental illnesses linked to the overarching political stance of American conservatism." Yeah. Because liberals are all so fucking good and righteous that they're devoid of greed. This must be why U2 gives away all their concert tickets and CDs for free and why Michael Moore contents himself with an income comparable to that of the average US auto worker and why The Kennedys all live in modest bungalows in the suburbs of Boston. Greedy and rich are not synonyms; greed is more the aggressive pursuit of wealth or power, especially for their own sake. I think Mr. Moore and the Kennedys all have other agendas and have not particularly pursued their money.
I agree, however, that there are plenty of greedy liberals and left-wingers and that the article should not make such a link between right-wingers and greed. Mjollnir.svgListenerXTalkerX 03:58, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
I think it's alot easier than that. There are plenty of other places where the more subtle points of our leftists' thoughts on greed get made more elegantly. This article is a poorly written stub that I can't imagine anyone has the interest in writing more fully. Discussing greed in the abstract is an exercise for Ken DeMeyer. I vote for deletion. I have now expanded it slightly. Mjollnir.svgListenerXTalkerX 04:19, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
It's still weak. I don't know what appropriate laws you're writing about. None specifically constrains greed per se, but addresses some of the more common mechanisms of pursuing greed. If you're going to discuss the law, you need to do it more fully by finding a law review article or something similar for inspiration on the motivation of consumer fraud law, antitrust law, Gramm-Leach-Bliley, relevant Supreme Court decisions interpreting the National Banking Act etc., to constrain greed. And that's only a tiny portion of the issue that should after discussing philosophical, theological, moral, and ethical perspectives on greed. This is a big project. Just have a look at the Wikipedia article on greed (I'm kidding, it's also a stub). Either that or the Wikipedia article is adequate. Nutty Roux100x100 anarchy symbol.svg 04:30, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
A desire is constrained by removal of some or all of the means to fulfill it. Even laws against theft and private entities levying war constrain greed; one does not need to expound with reams of legal history to get the point. Mjollnir.svgListenerXTalkerX 04:37, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

A solution to teh "delete" problem.[edit]

Move it to a sub-heading in the sin page and expand subsections on the other six sins accordingly. RaoulDuke 16:26, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

It's already as good or better than the wp article. I guess I'm being pedantic. I'm removing the delete template. Nutty Roux100x100 anarchy symbol.svg 16:49, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
