Talk:Internet tough guy

This could do with a list of people we have articles on who could be termed Internet tough guys. Any suggestions? Balaam (talk) 10:35, 19 January 2013 (UTC)

I'm not sure about this article. The first part seems to be suggesting that we judge people on whether they could genuinely beat us up IRL or are just pretending they could. How about neither? What difference does it make if an internet user is skinny, obese or musclebound? & The long quotes are just macho Tea Party rhetoric which contain a certain amount of tough guy posturing but don't really relate to the internet tough guy as defined in the opening section (i.e. someone who makes empty threats of violence towards other forum users etc.) Weaseloid

- What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I've been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I'm the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You're fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little "clever" comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now you're paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You're fucking dead, kiddo.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone use a Chuck Norris avatar unironically. Woodgod (talk) 12:00, 19 January 2013 (UTC)
[edit] 33 degree black belt?
Maybe the "33 degree black belt" is not only a mall ninja but also a freemason as well :) — Unsigned, by: 50.28.169.85 / talk / contribs 00:18, 20 January 2013 (UTC)

Unsurprisingly, the blog entry where Eric Dondero promises to ragequit America has been deleted. --TheLateGatsby (talk) 21:20, 25 March 2013 (UTC)
[edit] the long examples
While the vast majority of those who would post something like the Democrat-shunner really are (and only are) Internet tough guys, this does not share the totally unhinged quality of the other long example. And there really are majority-conservative families who might shun less conservative family members. Not sure if this even is a rationalwiki topic; anyway, I think the example is bad and only ambiguously illustrative.
As well, it might be good to add a few shorter examples that threaten violence in slightly less threatening, slightly less unhinged ways than the first long example. Basically, to flesh out the continuum a little.
