Talk:Is Abortion Genocide? (pamphlet)

Alveda King is also unfortunately a peddler of the abortion as black genocide meme. Nebuchadnezzar (talk) 21:09, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

Alveda King might be the most egregious example of appeal to authority in circulation these days. She came to speak on my campus last year and the place was littered with posters about "MLK's" niece for two weeks leading up to it. I mean really -- since when does being anybody's niece give anybody some sort of moral authority? I have one uncle who's a convicted arsonist and another who's a junkie who's done time for a number of petty crimes. By Alveda's logic anything I say should be suspect. I find the citations of Samantha Power rather ironic as well. Nebuchadnezzar (talk) 21:29, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

Confused - are these all one pamphlet?[edit]

And maybe we should discuss if we should have a site-wide "title" for things that are analysis of books, pamphlets, videos, etc. "Is Abortion Genocide (pamphlet)". "Dr. Dino's guide to Atheism (book)." cause i see a lot of these titles being reviewed, but no sense in the title that the ARTICLE is about the book or pamphet, and not the topic of the pamphlet.Pink mowse.pngEn attendant Godot 21:26, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

The WP precedent (which I usually default to) is that unless there's a disambiguation needed, you don't do that. But I see your point regarding ambiguity and a few other things that we face. Providing suitable redirects are made, I don't see a problem with adding relevant suffixes where needed. ADK...I'll condense your bowling ball! 21:29, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
How about a namespace for all of these? "Books" or "Publications" or something? Federir has a ton of these articles on the go. BbMaj7 On the Internet, nobody knows you're a dog. 21:30, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
His are the ones that first called my attention. i was wondering why we had an article on, say "Defeating Atheists" or some such. I realize it's not likely that anyone but us even sees most of these, as they are not important enough to be front page, and aren't really linked to, other than the random "see also". but never the less...--Pink mowse.pngEn attendant Godot 21:34, 8 August 2011 (UTC) ps. i did this one article (added "pamphlet) just to see if it works, if we like it, if it's clumsy, etc.
Another namespace isn't needed. ADK...I'll dehydrate your alpaca sandwich! 21:48, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
'twas just a suggestion. BbMaj7 On the Internet, nobody knows you're a dog. 21:53, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

Citation needed[edit]

"Also, a great number of advocates of legal abortion are much opposed to abortions performed for lifestyle and/or career reasons." That would be about 98% of the abortions, the number that occur because of rape or health issues is small. I've been on many sites that espouse a pro-choice viewpoint, and I've never heard talk of "lifestyle reasons." — Unsigned, by: George / talk / contribs
