Causes for hope[edit]

Though I like this section (but maybe without the first person POV), one of the fantastic strands in the movie is getting brief glimpses of this kid over the rest of the movie. By the end, he's enthusiastically participating in the insanity. If anything, I thought his extremely ancilary story arc was about the heartbreaking purpose of these camps - to fully indoctrinate and remove all doubt. But it's always possible I'm misunderstanding it, I guess. --Arcan ¡ollǝɥ 12:46, 8 June 2008 (EDT)

Yeah, I'm all for snark, but launching right into it in the first two sentences of this article is a little offputting. I think the article opening needs a small rewrite. Great film though. Good Christ it's depressing. One can only wonder how all those kids are doing now - many of them seemed very smart, certainly very articulate, but their heads are filled with nothing but nonsense so while they speak well, total gibberish is what floods out. Heartbreaking really... DogP 12:58, 8 June 2008 (EDT)
Haven't seen the flick myself, so I'm not the guy to do it, but I think this article needs to back the smack up a little bit and front load a straighter explanation of what the film is. Interesting that CP is totally stubby about the flick, only pointing out that it lost out in the Oscars to Inconvenient Truth. Someone with a sock should paly with the article over there....13:11, 8 June 2008 (EDT)

Transcript[edit]

Does anybody know where one can find the transcript? I'm specifically looking for the part early in the film where the wicked witch compares her camp with terrorist camps or something like that. NightFlareStill doesn't have a (nonstub) RWW article. 07:50, 19 June 2008 (EDT)

I don't have a transcript, but I have a copy of Jesus Camp, so I'll write-up a bit about the comparison she drew. It's a recurrent theme throughout the documentary. I don't have a lot of direct quotes, since it's genuinely unpleasant to re-watch that film, but I'll get some if it's felt that we need more citations. --ConcernedresidentAsk me about your mother 23:23, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

Disturbing...[edit]

I just watched the trailer from this film, and I think that I am going to purchase it from iTunes. It is truly terrible how the church has been turned into a fundamentalist brainwashing center. These children are being told what they have to believe while they are too young to form opinions of their own, and the most despicable part is the fact that the camp's administrators forced the kids to participate in an anti-abortion rally (no good place for children if you have ever seen one) and bow down in front of a cutout of President Bush. And lets not even get started on that Ted Haggard. I do not use profanity of any kind, but the mere mention of his name makes me want to. It is so ironic to think that in this movie he stands up and denounces LGBT people as being disgusting, while he was having...err....some side affairs. He, in my mind, is the ultimate hypocrite. The only redeeming part about this camp is the fact that its leader was a woman, a rarity in the religious right movement.User:Lefty

Haggard has got better. He recently said he was coming to terms with being gay and decided to take the stance that he loved his wife and there was a difference between being gay and ACTING gay. Small comfort to anyone who feels insulted by his persecution but it's a little bit of progress, right?? Ancient Greek Pegasus icon.png 16:43, 16 April 2011 (UTC)

Silver or higher?[edit]

Well, is it? Reverend Black Percy (talk) 13:51, 24 April 2016 (UTC)

Although the content looks good, it's a bit short and could use some more references.--JorisEnter (talk) 14:04, 24 April 2016 (UTC)
