Nothing on the House Raffle Fraud?[edit]

LKJ has tried to delete all evidence from the web, but there's some in wayback:

http://web.archive.org/web/20021215085614/http://www.cassiopaea.org/cass/houseraffle.htm

IIRC she kept the money/house and is still wanted by the State of Florida, but I can't find a hard source right now. Only this puff piece by St. Petersburg Times:

http://www.sptimes.com/News/webspecials/exorcist/exorcist1-2.html

Still some good info there. I'm a wiki noob, so I'll leave it to others to decide on changes. ;) Gazacat (talk) 21:47, 24 February 2016 (UTC)

I thought that for later editors, it may be useful to finally add something about this, and more generally, about the rumors on the web that were first spread in the early 00s about illegal activities by LKJ et al. (This is separate from the late 00s legal battle with Eric Pepin, covered in the article.)
I've left this kind of stuff out of the article, as did those who wrote the earlier shorter version. I'm not aware of any serious skeptic writers who included claims of this kind. The problem is that evidence that illegal things really happened is always missing, and there's further problems with some of the claims that have floated around. While it could be true that bad things happened to some individuals without it involving the justice system (if it was even technically illegal), the old gossip is rather muddy (except when specific and false), and if there's any accurate parts they would be all mixed up with the libelous ones.
LKJ actually tends to be, at least earlier, very smart and consistent about sticking to facts when it matters legally and for defending her story about physical events. (She's not the type to launch lawsuits, rather she likes to bring up lots of stuff and weave a narrative that makes the other side the plainly bad side.) Her anti-anti-cult site (archived) contains evidence disproving some particular libelous claims, along with old articles demolishing her main antagonists (and going further than sober criticism by viewing them as part of a conspiracy by intelligence agencies against her). Some of her old antagonists seem like genuinely vile pathological liars, while others seem more like harmless weirdos who were demonized for disagreeing and/or getting a few details wrong when they wrote something.
I've covered a bit concerning the latter things, but only a smaller part, for the general paranoid climate and the few things that I think convey the most information about how the community around LKJ developed without bloating the article with empty drama. --ApooftGnegiol (talk) 18:41, 14 September 2021 (UTC)

Big overhaul to bring the article up to date[edit]

This article has largely been outdated by a decade or so, and besides that some things could do with further expansion. I'm familiar with the Cassiopaea community, and I hope to improve coverage here as a way of filling the gap in high-quality critical examination on the web. (There's so much information involved that critics, like the original starter of the article, tend to write simplified impressions good enough for other critics but easily brushed aside by those who have "learned" the more complex version inside the community.) But I also hope to keep it concise. For now, I'll just focus on filling in what I think are some basic gaps in what's covered, but suggestions are welcome, especially as I'm ending up making big changes.

This wiki has, until now, not covered LKJ's religion, but I think it would have been included from the start if only it had been noticed. I added a link to the anti-anti-cult website, cassiopaea-cult.com, but it's down right now. Here is the last working web archive link at present. On the Cassiopaea forum, there's visibly content relating to the Fellowship, but there's also a Fellowship-member-only area hidden for those not in the religion; that's still the main avenue of non-public discussion, as far as I know. But I think showing the silliness of the Cassiopaean core of it all is the best way to show the silliness at the heart of the religion.

Finally, I can't yet move pages on this wiki, as would be needed to correct the typo in LKJ's name. The second space in the page title should be a dash. If someone can rename the page accordingly, to "Laura Knight-Jadczyk", that'd be great. --ApooftGnegiol (talk) 10:27, 24 March 2021 (UTC)

By now, I think the article is mostly good. The short section about diet is still outdated, and doesn't cover the journey from a "detox diet" depending on lots of supplements, to the paleo diet (touched on in the current text), to a carnivore diet (similar to the one Jordan Peterson is known for). I simply couldn't be bothered to expand that part yet, maybe later.
Also, the article is growing. Before I began editing, it was 8,766 bytes, now it's 58,617 bytes. In part, that's because the Cassiopaea community makes it so easy to quote and document their ideas, since most of it is all openly on the web. For standard-grade pseudoscience and conspiracy thinking, check SOTT. For full-blown craziness, check the forum.
Maybe at some point it'll be worth splitting the article, but currently, there's many small sections and the ideas all point back and forth. LKJ is currently the main heading for the Cassiopaean channeling, the Cassiopaean Experiment New Age and conspiracy stuff, SOTT etc., and the religion and the things most strongly associated with it.
Honestly, in part I expand the article for the absurd humor value. On that basis, I may end up adding some further channeled quotes and ideas here and there to spice it up a bit. --ApooftGnegiol (talk) 22:15, 1 May 2021 (UTC)
The diet part is now also done. I have no basic to-do items left. General input on the article welcome. There's still many details not covered, but I think the big picture goes deep enough now.
If it's best to keep the main text fairly streamlined, maybe it's sometimes best to cover further small details through adding notes. Potential wacky tangents (and possibly larger additions) can be found in large part by digging through the mess that is the channeled material. --ApooftGnegiol (talk) 01:55, 8 May 2021 (UTC)
Hey thanks for adding all this stuff. I used to be loosely affiliated with these people several years ago, and it was insane watching them go from kooky UFO-obsessed moonbats to Trump-loving wingnuts. I haven't kept up with everything. But A lot of the things that I used to learn from this group have started to be repeated by people in more general conspiracy spheres and Qanon groups, eg organic portals and their connections to Eva Bartlett and Vanessa Beeley. Louis Proyect, a leftist blogger also has an article written about them: https://louisproyect.org/2016/12/28/the-cassiopaea-experiment-the-grotesque-cult-in-assads-corner/ . Its really important I think that people know where a lot of this info is coming from (lol). 27.50.76.102 (talk) 01:24, 14 May 2021 (UTC)
