Talk:Not actually a list of magic tricks

This is not ready for mainspace. For one, there's nothing here to indicate the levitation trick is used fraudulently, as anything other than entertainment. Second of all, you've only got three tricks on this list of magic tricks (one of which doesn't seem relevant to the mission).

My suggestion if you're looking for stuff to add to this article is to research skeptics like Prabir Ghosh, who expose those who prey on the desperate and uninformed, and people like Uri Geller. Once you've got something cohesive, then put it to mainspace.

Also, I don't think Martin Gardner was a magician--"Shut up, Brx." 02:45, 28 September 2014 (UTC)

Alright, you are right about Gardener Brxbrx, I read magic on his page and assumed it was this kind. That kind of confusion from skimming is why i removed the inappropriate political entries to that category. This page isn't ready yet, though in fairness you know this could be a very long list. My basis for Blane's levitation was the levitation mirror boxes, which are used to con people, but your right that Blanes levitation in particular would not be very useful. A higher than average amount of research is needed to make this page an encyclopedia of magic tricks. My question is how many tricks until it's a suitable start, 3, with some explanation on why or how they work; also where is the magic trick wiki, is there no Trickwiki? I meant it when I said I'd help you. But first I need to buckle down and do my chores. At some point, I'm going to pop up on your talk page with the best editing guide I can make for you, specifically tailored to magic tricks, your topic of interest. In the meanwhile, I suggest you stay off of mainspace, to avoid irritating less patient users.--"Shut up, Brx." 20:52, 28 September 2014 (UTC)

What is the point?[edit]

What does this article do that isn't already done at Magic? --Marlow (talk) 00:36, 29 September 2014 (UTC)

In theory, such an article could be a list of specific tricks performed by frauds, which would just bog down the article on magic itself if they were included there. I say in theory because as the article stands, it's no good for mainspace and doesn't actually do what I just described it should--"Shut up, Brx." 00:56, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
