How did the fellow ocupants of the raiload car determine that the fellow had one drop of African-American blood in his veins? Rational Edevidence 13:31, 16 April 2008 (EDT)

Plessy was 7/8 "white" and 1/8 "black" - and I say that in full knowledge that these categories are both constructed and slippery - here's a link to his picture. I guess he just didn't look "white" enough for the racist crackers other patrons on the train.And his name was "Homer," not "Omar." I will fix. PFoster 13:52, 16 April 2008 (EDT)
