'Swing both ways' joke?

I don't know if argumentum ad googlum is a logical fallacy, but: Purple America - 62, 000 results, "swing state" - 730,000. "purple america" according to wikipedia seems to be about the prevalence of blue regions in red states (and vice versa). this article seems to be about states rather than a purple America as a whole - in fact, in its statement that elections depend on a few swing areas, it effectively denies that there is a purple America at all. - It's not quite the same, and I tried to include both meanings in the article - a swing state is an area that has a clear boundary, but "purple" America may designate the set of battlegrounds or the nation or most of it as a whole. Wikipedia has a nice map that shows how the whole country can be shaded that way (unfortunately, it's apparently not on Commons, or I would've included it). Röstigraben (talk) 10:20, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
