I consider myself to the left of the American Democratic Party and my ideal is the Social democrat model in Scandinavia. Despite this I follow the Conservative agenda in just one respect, I accept the need for a strong military or for strong military allies to protect the freedom that Scandinavia and other democratic countries have. I see this as an example that the Conservative agenda doesn't have to be accepted or rejected in total. Proxima Centauri (talk) 11:35, 4 July 2011 (UTC)

So if you're a conservative liberal, or a liberal conservative, in the US, who do you vote for? I don't see the two terms as being mutually exclusive. If, for example, you believe in minimal state interference in economics, but also believe in the concept of a welfare state, what're the options? From this side of the Pond, the heavy partisan politics of the US seems to alienate the moderate voter population. Or do you not have moderate voters? Is one half gun-totin', god-lovin', big government-hatin' SUV drivers and the other half tree-huggin', handout-wantin', gay-lovin' Prius drivers? Natman (talk) 11:51, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
