There is no way to measure economic growth, politicians pretend that this fictional entity called the 'economy' is in jeopardy so that people allow rich profiteers to make more money, citing so-called 'economic benefits' as a justification. Economics may not be a useless discipline, but it is abused by politicians and the economy is mostly not worth worrying about.

Not really sure I can agree with that. We do measure economic growth, and poor policies do lead to recession. Don't know if we can claim it's not worth worrying about, either. Anybody got comments? DalekEXTERMINATE 13:52, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
