Secondhand cigarette and secondhand cigar smoke smell unpleasant. Secondhand pipe smoke can smell 'pleasant enough.' So is pipesmoke better than cigar(ette) smoke? 82.44.143.26 (talk) 16:35, 27 January 2014 (UTC)

To me, it can since pipe tobacco tends to come in a variety of flavors unlike cigs. If somebody's blowing paper, it can just be unpleasant, but somebody blowing cherry flavored in a pipe can be more interesting and far less unpleasant. Zero (talk) 17:16, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
i would say that pipesmoke is just as unpleasant as other tabacco smoke. I reckon it depends on your own choice of poison. I find pipe and cigar smoke pretty vile but herbal cigarettes even viler. A non smoking friend found the second herbal smoke just as vile as other second hand smoke. AMassiveGay (talk) 17:23, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
Re the original question, in what sense "better"? If you mean less obtrusive or unpleasant, then it's down to personal (dis)taste. If you're talking about health effects, then being 'pleasant enough' doesn't really have much bearing. I'd hazard a guess that the effects are probably about the same. Deliberately ambiguous with emphasis on the word 'can'. If said smokers can be persuaded to smoke citronella-flavoured tobacco at outdoor gatherings (so keeping insects at bay) - unless evil cults are involved (see [1]) may be a different matter. 82.44.143.26 (talk) 19:21, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
