Godot's in the 200,00 range but Neb isn't even close, only about 33k, and Stabby also uses LQT and is only 40k or so. The mystery persists.

It is not my fault that I am both a chatter box and bored to death at work. :-) I would say it's cause "i'm a girl" and "girls like to talk", but i suspect nebby would rightfullly attack that.

Green mowse.pngGodotFire! Fire! Fire! (please send spare firefighters)17:14, 2 July 2012

I am bored to death all the time. Brain will not shut off.

Тytalk17:23, 2 July 2012

Funny, the brain not shutting off part is what keeps me from being bored to death.

Nebuchadnezzar (talk)17:58, 2 July 2012

That's kind of the problem. Can't sleep, brain won't shut off. My hard drive is full of pointless spreadsheets of nonsensical data made in an attempt to declutter the mind. I do incredibly tedious things in an attempt to alleviate boredom. But almost none of it is interesting, it just is stuck up there rattling around. "Huh, I can't think of anything to do, I'll read this book on AFV statistics. Oh wow, this is even worse"

Тytalk18:05, 2 July 2012

Eh, it's better than "I should be doing work...but maybe I'll just read a little bit of this book on 19th century British propaganda."

Nebuchadnezzar (talk)18:09, 2 July 2012

That too. But its terrible because once it is in there, it is always in there. I get a tune stuck in my head, it is stuck there for weeks. I can recite the primary armament for every tank used by the United States since WW2 from memory. Random information about every US president. All stuck there, never leaving. Video game information. It won't leave, all of it is always stuck in there, always running on the back burner. Pointless factoids. Songs, conversations, entire roleplaying games. It's hell.

Тytalk18:15, 2 July 2012

Where you last had your keys, though, *POOF*, gone.

Scarlet A.pngpathetic18:17, 2 July 2012

Which is why you have a spare set in a fixed place.

Тytalk18:25, 2 July 2012

No one likes a smartarse.

Scarlet A.pngpathetic18:34, 2 July 2012

No, I just got tired of finding them in the most random places. Why are my keys in the freezer? etc.

Тytalk18:51, 2 July 2012

I feel bad for you all. I don't do nearly that much "thinking' anymore, even processing. I can (sadly) go the entire train ride to work, staring at nothing.

maybe you just have to get old, to stop caring? hehe. no, my mind never worked as hard as you three do.

Green mowse.pngGodotFire! Fire! Fire! (please send spare firefighters)19:48, 2 July 2012

I'm jealous, I'd love for my brain to shut the fuck up once in a while. "Yo, dude, here are some great ideas for a story, a webcomic panel, an essay, a blogpost, a paper, the solution to unifying quantum mechanics with gravity, and when you get to your destination, I'm going to make you forget all of them, because if you act like a bitch I'll fuck you like a bitch." Thanks brain, love you too.

I overthink things often. This leads to paranoia.

Тytalk20:04, 2 July 2012

Paranoia you say? Probably something in the water.

Nebuchadnezzar (talk)20:44, 2 July 2012

This is why I only drink vodka and rum.

Тytalk20:50, 2 July 2012

And fresh rainwater to preserve our precious bodily...

Scarlet A.pngbomination21:02, 2 July 2012

Well, that's a problem, because cisterns are made in CHINA land of lead and Communism. I use a wooden cistern I carved myself.

That can't be true because RW is a manarchist brospace! All the talk is generated by Real Men™.

Chatty Cathys?

Nebuchadnezzar (talk)17:43, 2 July 2012

The graph on the bottom, showing that women really do talk "more" also shows we take more turns. Selfish bitches!

In my linguistic world, one of the graduate students was working on a project studying interruption behaviors in men, women, and specifically, teen to adult. It was an artificial study, in that two speakers would be given a topic and told (forced) to talk for 30 minutes at a time, but it was still interesting. Despite the "you never let me finish" motif women often say, they were far and away more guilty of butting in.

Course it was a first year grad's study, limited only to the "is this something worth further study" kind of project we all did.

For some reason, ZooGuard's comment in the aliens thread was linked as recommended reading from this atheist blog (cached version, the link seems to have gone from the current version).

Come to think of it, if an individual LQT thread or comment gets viewed on its own, does the bump the pageview count for the whole talkpage?

Shouldn't, because they're just pages held in the threadspace and assembled by the extension in either Special:NewMessages or on a page with the useliquidthreads option. Maybe we are just that bizarrely popular!

Scarlet A.pngsshole17:40, 2 July 2012

Hmm, I have linked a few of your essays to people before.

The guy probably used the feed links (RSS/Atom) in the "Toolbox" to the left without realizing that they list all the changes. He has either linked to the Recent Changes, or Armondikov's talk page changes. The last one in the moment is "Thread:User talk:Armondikov/Congratulations (2)/reply (5)" and it will probably change as soon as his blog refreshes the feed.

ZooGuard (talk)17:51, 2 July 2012

Yeah, I'm getting a difflink in the Saloon Bar as the latest link (someone correcting their own spelling error).

That stuff appears all the time. Just stick any of our usernames into Google and you find the talk pages crop up on the "atheist blogroll" quite frequently - though invariably in the Google cache rather than the live site.
