Speaking of Samarkand

Hast thou read the Bartimaeus trilogy?

"Samarkand" rings a bell, but no, I don't think so...

The first one is The Amululet of Samarkand. They're pretty good IIRC.

Ah right, that was one of the books I started and gave up after a bit. Happened with Eldest and Inkspell too. But perhaps I'll try Amulet again sometime, once I'm through with the mammoth adventure that is A Song of Ice and Fire.

Made it through Eldest, didn't bother with the others. Haven't red Inkspell or A Song of Ice and Fire. To the library!

Don't bother with the Ink- series, IMO, but Ice and Fire is definitely worth it.

Alrighty, that should reduce the inevitable fines.

And I'll bang the drum for Steven Erikson's Malazan Book of the Fallen series. Because I'm getting the feeling I'm the only person in the world... or on RW anyway, who's read them.
