Disingenuous

Your criticism of Human is disingenuous at best. Your hatred is remarkable in that you openly wear it as if a badge of honour.

What are you talking about?

Your criticism of Human is disingenuous at best. Your hatred is remarkable in that you openly wear it as if a badge of honour.

AceAce For Mod!08:19, 16 December 2011

So apparently warning him that he should not reveal personal information is hatred. Ok.

-- Nx / talk08:20, 16 December 2011

You target Human specifically, you admitted as much yourself. Read the below section. Disingenuous at best.

AceAce For Mod!08:26, 16 December 2011

No, I would've done the same thing had it been anyone else.

-- Nx / talk08:29, 16 December 2011

Yeah but you haven't. Remember when I accidentally posted as an IP. The IP of my employer? Remember your flippancy toward my concern? You are extremely disingenuous and it is obvious to everyone. Hell you pretty much admitted to it - going as far to say that when Human appears (or even even mentioned it seems) you turn from a considered, dare I say, human into a nasty piece of work all at the very existence of a singular entity you disagree with. Tsk, tsk Old Friend. Turn it off. Go for a walk.

AceAce For Mod!20:41, 16 December 2011

Because that was an IP address. Let me explain. When we first installed revdelete people were very wary about it and the possible misuse. At the time, the general sentiment was that using it to hide IPs because you accidentally posted as an IP and were afraid that TK would rangeban you on CP was an abuse of revdelete. Thus my policy towards accidentally revealing IP addresses was that there's a giant red warning and if you manage to reveal your IP anyway, it's your problem. (On RWW there wasn't a giant red warning, so that's another reason why I agreed with you).

But that sentiment has changed (and I was a bit surprised, to be honest). I don't know exactly what I said back in that incident, but I think I defended Bricks because he got told off for using revdelete to hide his mistake on TWIGO:CP (revealing his real name), but I agreed that wheel-warring over it was a dick thing to do and that the IP should stay hidden.

On the other hand, revealing someone's real name in a petty argument is deliberately being a douchebag.

-- Nx / talk20:54, 16 December 2011

Yes, revealing my employers IP was my mistake. And as my mistake I took immediate steps to rectify it. I had to fight Brx, back and forth with oversighting, in order to keep it hidden. Continually revealing someones employment during a petty argument, because Brx didn't think I was "special", is deliberately being a douchebag. And IP, a business IP, is far more direct than a mere name. Your criticism of Human is disingenuous and more about the admitted nasty emotions you feel when ever you see him. Say what you must, but it is writ large by your own comments.

AceAce For Mod!21:14, 16 December 2011

Yeah, he was a clueless douchebag deliberately picking a fight with you. I did defend him for being clueless, but I did also say that it was a dick thing to wheel-war over it. So, how does that make me disingenuous?

-- Nx / talk21:25, 16 December 2011

Your criticisms of human (and myself) are disingenuous in that it isn't to do with "the rules" but your personal dislike of those involved. You have admitted as much yourself. It is sad.

AceAce For Mod!21:28, 16 December 2011

The reason I dislike him is because he's an abusive asshole. His response to anything he doesn't like is "this is shit and you're a worthless piece of shit". (The comment I deleted was another example of that, unsurprisingly) Those comments upset me very much, even when they're not directed at me.

I don't have nasty emotions whenever I see Human. Usually those develop when I check RW after he has left a couple of these comments. And it's still not as nasty as Human's emotions whenever he sees me.

And I don't think my warning contained any of those nasty emotions. I didn't even call him a dick. So, what are you talking about?

-- Nx / talk22:21, 16 December 2011

As much as it might pain me to do so, I gotta agree with Nx on this one. Human has been acting like a vindictive, petty man with zero tolerance for anything and anybody that doesn't fit his idea of what the wiki should be like. Never mind going after trolls like Brx, pissing all over someone like Armondikov or Blue is totally not cool. And yes, I've picked on Brx and Maratrean, and I probably should have dialed that back a lot and a long time ago; but I never put their real names on the wiki, and I never attacked anyone by cosying up to declared trolls who expressed a clear intention to sow discord. It's really sad that a valuable player like him chose to be a jerk.

P-Foster22:31, 16 December 2011

"I gotta agree with Nx on this one" I am not talking about Human's behaviour - Human has indeed been action like a asshole. But it is Nx who tries taking the high ground but acting in the same vein. The point isn't what Human does but how Nx reacts. He justifies being a dick because Human acts like a dick? So why is human villified but not Nx?

AceAce For Mod!22:36, 16 December 2011

If you knew who was over at McWiki before and after Huw, there is no way on earth you would harbor such a grudge against him for a bit of copyediting. I realize you're in the crosshairs on that site but be objective as you can Foster. Not having any idea what you mean by "pissing" I can only say there are good reasons to be resentful of Armondikov and have issues with Blue. I can't tell if you're being critical of Huw's message or the manner in which he conveyed it, which concerns me because I have some shit to say that might land me on your shit list too.

This'd probably be a bad time to drop this bombshell, but about a third of those articles were written by me. And I did so with the explicit purpose of making the site so over-the-top and vile that no one with any sense would touch it. Though, I have to say, MC pretty much topped anything I could do with the whole "Nx is Himmler and P-Foster is a rapist" bit.

Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments.00:19, 17 December 2011

I too wrote a sizable portion of the site before being outed, even briefly possessing bureaucrat rights.

Pffft. Several of us on this very page have been Marcus Cicero at one time or another.

It takes all types of people to make a world, Nx. You can't like everyone but your response to people you dislike is what personally counts. And your response to Human turns you into someone as bad as the person you dislike. Your as bad as each other (not to mention you do the same to me). You are no better than those you accuse so why so high and mighty about it? Like I said, your reasoning is disingenuous at best. Spurious is more appropriate. And you are as nasty, you turn around and act in kind. You are no better.

" So why is human villified but not Nx?" Honest answer? I expect from Nx. He's always been an authoritarian prick on-wiki. Human always struck me as someone who knew better, and was demonstrably a good guy for a long time, so I hold him to the higher good guy standard.

P-Foster22:45, 16 December 2011

a dick is a dick is a dick. Nx has also stated he knows better (though not in so many words). He is just a different kind of dick but still...a dick. I am not defending Human, but pointing out the discrepancy between his treatment for his behaviour and Nx's.

AceAce For Mod!22:57, 16 December 2011

Actually, that's not true. My behavior is nowhere near as bad as the abuse Human throws at others.

Here's an example: [1] My comment was neutral and factual. He responded with a personal attack.

But if I do the same, he goes apeshit and complains about how I'm abusing him, and in the very next sentence he says: "You are the biggest loser I have ever seen on this site. And yes i do. Fuck off. Go to hell. Eat shit and die. You are the worst thing that ever happened to this site. Fucking moron. Now GET OFF MY TALK PAGE AND NEVER COME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "

Am I the only one who sees the irony in that?

There are always at least two sides to a story, Nx. And in this case likely many more. Unless I'm missing some specific moment when Human started targeting you for abuse or whatever starts these beefs, you and he are two of the worst people on RW to try to take the high ground against each other. If you have any interest in my assistance, I would be pleased to help explain Human's position to you as well as I understand it. I've talked with him a lot about how he feels about RW and how starting last year it turned his stomach to see sniping remarks from you on his talk page and elsewhere. I'm sure it cuts both ways and that you have your own recollection. I'm sort of guessing you've been saving diffs. I'm not going to bring my personal feelings about you into this other than to make one single point that anyone else could make just as well. The personal observation is that you seem to revel in conflict. It's not only things like predictably being drawn to any conflict to fan the flames, but seeming to almost need conflict so much that you do things to set the stage for what you know or should know will entail hours or days of fallout. I'm sure you disagree. And I'm sure you're finding it hard to resist your typical response of tossing me a tu quoque and ignoring everything I've said. The point is that, perceptions being what they are, it's pretty hard to be right all the time and it may not even matter if you are. If you've got specific criticisms of aspects of Human or anyone else's behavior that are upsetting you enough that you find yourself acting out, make them. I don't think anyone really cares if you're angry about it for a good reason that they can generally follow, but at least communicate an idea worth communicating man! Nobody cares if you think Human is a dick.

Nutty Roux100x100 anarchy symbol.svg23:23, 16 December 2011

If you've got specific criticisms of aspects of Human or anyone else's behavior that are upsetting you enough that you find yourself acting out, make them. Yes, yes I do. I did make them. And I also have criticism of Ace's behavior, and I did make them too. Remember all those Chicken coop cases? And what has that accomplished? Nothing.

You want some diffs? Here. That's what turns my stomach.

-- Nx / talk13:24, 17 December 2011

I figured you were saving diffs somewhere. That must really suck for you. I wasn't asking for you to point at another bunch of diffs and tell me how revolting Huw and Ace are. I told Ace to keep bringing your weird blocks and hectoring up because it's a simple truism that he's not responsible for your behavior and you really and truly were straight up abusing your authority and being an asshole about it. That's what I mean about addressing specific criticisms. I don't know why you'd mention the coop as some kind of justification. You've been there as much and for far greater abuses; you gain nothing by trying to take some kind of moral high ground with a record as spotty as yours. You remarkably survived getting tagged for huge breaches of trust by abusing your server rights, but you want to squander your last remaining good will by keeping up a grudge match you can't win even if you win? Huw and Ace are going to be the only winners if you keep up your present course, Ace obviously a lot more than Human. Just email me your response. I'd like to talk to you but you're not doing well out in the open. Unlike you, I'll respect your confidence and not misrepresent your private communication to me in a broadcast to the entire wiki.

Nutty Roux100x100 anarchy symbol.svg16:19, 17 December 2011
