Hehehe
Technical question - does it matter at all?? I like it cause it says "yo' idiot, you have messages".
It uses less space, auto signs your comments, still gives you "you have messages" if the messenger is botted, is much handier for deleting troll posts...
You know, where I come from "bot" is also a colloquial term for "fuck" or possibly "in the arse".
Lol. I'm gonna have to use the term "bot" now in place of "fuck" just so I can confuse people.
I'm pretty sure it won't have the same effect in a yank accent, though.
Which will make it all the more fun, IMO. The crazier people think I am, the less they bother me.
That's my strategy for dealing with those aggravating people who want to sell me stuff/me to join whatever group they have. The hard part is to remember to stop gibbering.
My highschool drama teacher told us of a story that when in college, she had been attacked by someone probably intent on raping her. She started babblying like a truly mindless, ill person, and it freaked the guy out so much he ran away.
Thy don't teach that in self defense classes! maybe they should!
I was in London once on a school trip and the guy with me on the subway was wearing the wrong football shirt and had attracted the attention of some unsavory types. Gomer Pyle impersonations = let's not beat up the retards.
If I remember rightly from Tricks of the Mind, Derren Brown once avoided getting beat up by randomly talking about a wall. The guy who was about to pull a knife on him got massively confused.
Trouble with these methods, of course, is that we only hear about the success stories.
Admitedly. As we all know from Clockwork Orange, the homeless and mentally ill are so much easier to attck!
but i suspect much of the "success" if it is that, is the surprize.
