Twelve-step program
From RationalWiki
A twelve-step program is any rehabilitation program against addiction and compulsive behaviour, based on the structure of Alcoholics Anonymous.
Programs exist to confront abuse of narcotics, gambling, sex and other vices.
Criticism is based much on the same grounds as criticism against AA.[citation needed] The plead to confidentiality is treacherous, as there might be pressure within the group to go public.[citation needed] There are also similarities between twelve-step programs and cults.[citation needed]
[edit] Structure
The twelve-step program therapy is, obviously based on the twelve steps. Twelve-step program organizations are governed by the twelve traditions.
