Welcome, you have reached my user page. I am currently a atheist with an interest in late medieval/reformation/renaissance history. I am a former Calvinist, and I believe that I have a fairly good understanding of Calvinist doctrines. One of my objectives is to improve your articles on the reformation and on articles related to it.

I intent to write the following articles while here:

-30 years war.

The Thirty Years War is very important to understanding modern Christianity, and one of the most brutal wars fought prior to WWI. A quick explanation of the war is that it is quit similar to the current religious conflict in Iraq.

8,000,000 died in this war, making it a widely ignored warning about religious war. This was in the 17th century, before machine guns.

-Marburg Colloquium and the communion controversy.

If you have a sense of dark humor, you may find this funny, as the entire issue centers around the real presence of Christ in the Lords supper. This issue was argued amongst protestant factions, represented by Luther and Zwingli. Because each side only had vague references to the bible to work with, the dispute ran for several days centering around personal attacks and nonsense. A precedent for schism was later created amongst protestants which continues to act for schism to this day.
